Too much News!!

Tagged:  •

At first when I joined this blog site, I loved it. I mean there were many interesting blogs. Yet, as time passes by I see more and more of copy/paste news stories. What is worse, is that there is a way too many blogs about one story. For example, the Folley story. There have been a tremendous amount of blog about the story.

I really like this blogging site, because there is a chance to argue about what you believe in. Not everybody believes in the same things, and interprets stories the same way. I love the fact that we have so many different perspective in this site, and slowly it seems that these stories are hard to find, due to the tremendous amount of blogging.  Read More »

Application Essay

I know many of you have way better things to do than sit here and read my writing. But, I only ask for 5 minutes of your time (it is only 100 words) . I wrote this essay as part of MIT application. The question of the essay is "We know you lead a busy life, full of activities, many of which are required of you. Tell us aboiut something you do simply for the pleasure of it. (This isnt a trick question. We want to see how you bring balance to your life)"

I do not consider my life to be balanced. However, I do try to calm and relax myself by listening to music. I love to listen to my music; it is one of the few things in this world that truly calms my nerves. It is something about the upbeat tones, and not so well written lyrics that soothe my body. It is something about those catchy tunes and guys in baggy pants that truly amuse me. It is more of the depressing tones of the mainstream music that truly balances the life of a girl like me.  Read More »

Sorry about the question marks in the title, it is actually there to show the confusion that most people have for the topic of Islam.

So what is Islam? It is one of the world's biggest religion, and the new target of discrimination. Like many other religion we believe in one god, and we also believe that Mohammed(Peace be upon him) is our main messenger. We also believe in Jesus (Peace be upon him), we believe that he is also one of our prophets, not the son of God.  Read More »

The all american food:

*french fries
*chesse burgers

The food associated with this country seem to bring in bad cholesterol and saturated fat. So what is being done about this unhealthiness of our diet? Mostly nothing, however, a New Jersey senator is taking this issue seriously.  Read More »

Shopping for a different religion!!! Try the CHURCH OF STOP SHOPPING

Tagged:  •    •    •

Religion has been a big topic around this site, and I think many people who are skeptical about religion may find this church some what amusing. They have a good cause, and standing up for what they believe in.

There's a church out there unlike any other, where worshipers repent for the sins of shopping and corporate control, where gospel hymns condemn the modern way of life that has become dominated by profits over people. Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Gospel Choir are a group based out of New York City that, "...believe consumerism is overwhelming our lives."

We have been hearing about too many negative stories on the news. So what happens to all those motivational stories, they get stuck in the back pages of the news paper.
