John McCain's chances for the Presidency in '08

John McCain could easily win the Presidency in 2008.  The only problem for him, is if he can when his party's nomination.  McCain has many supporters across the country, because of his moderate views on many subjects.  The Republican Party, however, seems to be drifting further and further to the right, with more conservatives in control.  Many of the Republican Party leaders see McCain as too liberal for their party.  He is popular with America as a whole, and should be nominated if the Republicans wish to win in '08.  Read More »

The Fall of the Republican Party

The Republican party is begining to falter.  In all of the latest polls the President's approval ratings have plummeted below 40%.  Important mid-term elections are just months away, and the Democrats hold the lead in the polls.  It seems that the only way Republicans can win, is to avoid being associated with President Bush.  The Party has to change something before it losses its majority in Congress.  This could be a big chance for the Democrats to step in and take back Congress this year, and the Presidency in 2008.  Read More »

Iran's Nuclear Power

Iran continues pursuing its nuclear program despite calls by the United States, European Union, and the International Atomic Energy Administration.  The U.N. Security Council has demanded Iran to stop enriching uranium.  Russia and China are opposed to placing sanctions on Iran, and seek a diplomatic solution.  Israel has threatened unilateral action against Iran if they do not stop, and President Bush has not ruled out using military force to make Iran stop its nuclear program.  Read More »

Potential New Immigrant bill

Finally the Republicans and Democrats are putting aside party differences in an effort to pass a new illegal immigrant bill that is very necessary.  The bill would potentially offer citizenship to illegal immigrants already in American if they meet a series of conditions which include:

  • $2000 payment for back taxes and fines
  • Background check
  • Learning English
  • Already residing in the United States for at least 5 years.

The bill would also offer work visas for illegal immigrants in the United States that return to a border point of entry.  This bill would greatly help the growing problem of illegal immigrants and has the potential to help these immigrants, and our country.  Read More »
