Do red heads really have higher pain tolerance?

Tagged:

I've recently heard that red-heads have higher pain tolerance.  I have dark auburn hair myself, and have an exteremely high tolerance for just about any pain.  I wonder what hair color has to do with it, I've seen some brunettes that have taken pain without flintching before, so my question is: is this just a rumor or does it have some truth?

I got this from NBC.com, it kind of correlates with a few of my previous blogs, I always get brain feezes from anything cold and this was the only thing to work.

I'm a person who suffers from allergies and sinus problems, everymorning and at least twice a day I have difficulty breathing, I got this tip from NBC.com and its helped me so much.

Stuffy nose To help clear a stuffy nose, push your tongue to the top of your mouth while you use your index finger to push on the spot between your eyebrows. By pushing on both places simultaneously, you'll move the vomer bone, which runs through the nasal passages and moves back and forth like a seesaw, says Zinczenko. Doing this loosens the congestion, and in about 20 seconds your sinuses will drain.  Read More »

How to Get a Shot and Feel No Pain Just as the nurse is about to jab your arm with that flu shot, cough. Coughing causes a temporary rise in pressure in the chest and spinal canal, which blocks the areas in the spine where pain originates, according to Men's Health magazine editor Dave Zinczenko. Who knew? You can play tricks on your body to alleviate minor aches and pains. Zinczenko calls them simple self-healing tricks. "Whenever we're feeling achy or under the weather, we reach for the drugs in the medicine cabinet," Zinczenko told ABCNews.com. "But the body has its own hidden cures, once you know how to push your body's own buttons."  Read More »

Kava kava, echinacea, and ginseng, should they be FDA Approved?

Tagged:  •

Kava Kava should not be FDA approved. Kava Kava is believed to control anxiety, depression, alleviate symptoms of menopause and P.M.S., as well as managing stress. However, much research has been done to Kava Kava to test its side effects. Kava Kava is not only a natural tranquillizer, it has been shown to contain supplement thought to cause liver damage and in some cases liver failure. I would not recommend that anyone take this supplement. Its harmful and could possible kill someone. Due to this information I would be against the FDA approving Kava Kava.  Read More »
