Online shopping good or bad?

With at least one computer in nearly every home in America, most have found the convience of online shopping, now we can purchase everything from dog food to shampoo right online, but is it a good thing?  Sure we can get our items shipped to our homes, however theres always the chance things can get damaged or lost, may not arrive on time, or not be exactly as described.  Myself, I've purchased many textbooks online and other things such as craft supplies, its more convient in some places to just go online to purchase things instead of going to the store.  How many of us do it?
