The Gov’t is raiding the trust fund of Medicare for Children’s Health Insurance. House of Reps says that the only things funded in the Gov’t are Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. On Cspan today at 6PM a Rep from the house said that everybody in the US would have to buy 155 thousand dollars worth of treasury bills to pay for appropriations.
Guess they should be promoting that. Where are the wartime bonds?
If SCIP passes and I think it will, this bill is being paid for though 227billion Dollar cut in Medicare over the next ten years, a raise in the tobacco tax, and a raise in the taxes of private health insurance.

The office of China fair trade.
The Rep. of Michigan in the House of Rep. asked for an amendment to a bill, that the china fair trade office get double their funding. Instead of six million he proposed that the office get twelve million dollars to police china’s imports to this country. China is sending some goods that are not allowed in the US. They use pesticides that are harmful to the environment and poisonous to humans. They have sent poison toothpaste, bad cat food, and many other things not reported in the news; like lead objects. I believe some funding is necessary for the health of people. The Rep. of Michigan though, I believe he implied that he thinks that America should be responsible for improving other countries food sources. (SEE OTHER BLOG)

A system is already in place to prevent illegal immigration, the passport document. It is used in some form in every country except this one to prevent illegal immigration. As a nation of gypsies (we want the right to freedom of the road) we do not want to implement passport checks and road blocks. If every citizen of this country had to have papers at all times to travel, and by travel I mean even just to the grocery store, the problem of illegal immigration would just disappear. Of course so would my peace of mind. But with the war on Iraq and terrorists around every corner wouldn’t you like to know that everyone on the street is checked out by the government?

Rep. john Shimkus is fighting in congress to get funding that has been promised for a long time for enhanced 911 services for people who use cell phones. Of course this is being used right now on Disney phones. They advertise that you can know where your children are.
On 7-25-07 Rep. Rodney Frelinghaysen promised that the proceeds from a Spectrum Auction in the distant future would partially fund this project. I have some experience with this, on a car trip I ran out of gas and tried calling every number I knew to find out where I was including 911. I got nowhere; I had to walk 5 miles to get a can of gas at a gas station; because I could not call a tow truck and tell them where to find me. There were no road signs and no mile markers. I could have been in Leningrad for all I knew.

Otto Bock HealthCare, a company that started out providing devices for German World War I veterans in 1919, has developed a prosthetic knee system that is an upgrade to its already popular C-Leg. According to an Armed Forces Press Service release "the prosthesis is for above-the-knee amputees and uses a microprocessor to control the knee's hydraulic functions and anticipate the wearer's actions and make changes in real time."

The new system has more sensors, a faster hard drive, and more memory. Engineers are also looking to improve battery life to 50 hours per charge. The release states the leg will "improve transitions between movements like level-ground walking, climbing stairs, and running."

Stephen Johnson an EPA administrator said that the president in his union address announced a 20 % reduction in gas usage by some future time. Also S. Johnson asked all the states to declare OCT. 3 rd as Energy star “Change a light- change a day” holiday. He also made a plea for everyone who could to buy green energy.

The Sen. From Michigan said on Cspan today that Iraq is having or is going to have a civil war. The Sunnis think that it is their right to rule over the Hummus. The sen. said that we cannot save them from themselves. This war is now pointless. We should withdraw in 120 days. Darwin’s war is over. They have gotten rid of there best men in this fight. We have bombed their caves and started training a police force. We are not going to cut and run, apparently that is not the point of leaving mostly in 120 days. We are just cutting our losses. Maybe to progress in Iraq they need to have their civil war.
