The Hobbit
The Hobbit is a prequel to The Lord of the Rings books, and focuses on Bilbo Baggins, who turns out to be Frodo’s uncle, I think. I’ve never read any other books by Tolkien, so I was able to enjoy The Hobbit without any taints from the other books or movies.
