People are confused and off track in regards to the legalization of homosexual marriage. I just finished reading a blog where the writer condemed the state of virginia for voting against allowing homosexuals to marry. This person claimed that in doing so Virginia voted "against love" and is going against the very principles of our nation. Excuse me, but wasn't our nation founded on Christianity? Yet, I am sure that so many people ignore that fact and refuse to look at the Bible when discussing marriage between two men or two women. Countless times people retort with the argument that "I don't believe in the Bible so you can't use it to argue against me." That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Just because you don't believe in the Bible does not mean it does not exist as a source and definitely does not mean that our nation was suddenly not founded on Christian values. Besides, in not allowing homosexual marriage, we are not banning the love between two men! How would we ever regulate that? That is crazy! What is going on here is simply that the institution of marriage is remaing how it was created: To be between a man and a woman. Period. Yes, homosexuals "cannot help" their sexual orientation, yet neither can adults who prefer young children over men and women their own age, yet we condemn that type of behavior. Also, by allowing homosexuals to marry you are forced to redefine marriage completely. You cannot deny polygamy, for example, because if two men or two woman can marry, why can't a man have several wives? Or why can't I marry my dog? The issue here is marriage and family: should they remain as they are or be twisted into what our society deems "acceptable?"

Iraq War: Good, bad or ugly?
It's election day tuesday and hopefully the polls are packed with voters ready to offer their votes. Today I feel is the deciding day on whether or not we remain in Iraq, as that is the primary issue of the election. Republicans feel that this is a chance to prove that we made the right choice in attacking Iraq, while Democrats hope to prove that we need to leave there as soon as possible. Everyone has their opinions, but mine is that we must remain in Iraq.
Why Vote?
Why vote? A lot of people ask this, especially with the election coming up tomorrow. Excuses fly as people claim "the lines are too long" or "the government never does anything I want anyway." People who spout these excuses, however, could not be farther from the truth. Voting is a chance to express yourself, to make sure that the government is running as you would want it to. There is nothing more hypocritical than people who criticize the government, claiming that it does not run as they would like, yet they did not vote.
