"Don't judge a book by its cover." A saying we've all heard; a saying many of us probably haven't given a second thought to. Taken literally, this saying instructs us to take a look on the inside (of a book) before we decide it's worth or content. But this advice can also be applied in other aspects of our lives, including our judgments of people.

Although I am only 20, I think I've almost figured out this "growning up" thing.

Experts believe that an academically competitive atmosphere is helpful to students; And as a student, I would have to agree! Although everyone is different and bound to react differently to given situations, I believe the majority of students can benefit from a little "friendly" competition in the classroom.

Love. Definition (according to yahoo online dictionary); "A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness." No where have I seen love defined as feelings that only arise between a man and a woman.

Wow... what a subject! A subject we're all searching for answers on, considering we're all someone's child... and many of us, someone's parent. I think the truth of the matter is that there are no real answers. You can give and receive advice on how to raise your children, or how to treat your parents, but everyone is so different. What works for one, may not always work for another.
