There Is No Excuse

The most prevalent opinion I see around me, whether it be out and around town, or at my office, I hear far too many people say the same thing - "There's just no one to vote for". Excuse me?

Propaganda from the Pulpit

I was recently perusing a message board on Amazon.com when a title caught my eye asking if anyone's denomination of Christianity proposed the anti-semitic idea that Jews were bloodthirsty, murderous, sneaky and evil people. Well of course, I had to read it.

Art, It Does a Mind Good

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

As I've been pondering what it is that I'm going to my undergraduate studies in, what I'm going to major in and what it is that I'm going to do for a career, I've considered many options. Organic Spirituality

Religion and spirituality have always been large interests of mine. I've always felt something... divine around me and in my life. I've never belonged to any one particular religion although I've read about many and have (almost) always looked upon different sorts of religions with a great deal of curiosity and respect.

I realize that churches provide a great deal more than spiritual use to most people - it serves as a social gathering, as a way to give and receive support, and as a way of giving back to the community in positive ways.

Unorganized Religion

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

I was sitting on the couch with a book on Buddha sitting next to me. I decided to just open it up, flip through the pages and then stop when the mood struck me. "Do you have anything to show me universe?", I asked silently. When I stopped flipping I landed on a page that discussed an allegory (I assume) used by the Buddha when discussing religion.
