An Update

Tagged:  •

Hi everyone.  I haven't been active on ProU for some time now, so I thought I would stop in and say hello and see how things are going.  Most of my time has been exhausted by new classes.  I'm a senior now, so my classes are much more intense and detailed.  I have a lot more reading material to keep up with and many more papers to write.  Other than that, I've tried to remain a  Read More »

Does Hillary Clinton stand a chance?

Now that Mrs. Clinton has openingly voiced her interest in running for president, some are wondering if she really stands a chance.  Many feel that she has a lot of obstacles to cross over, one being the first woman elected.  The Democrats want the run of this country, so many of them are considering her chances of actually winning over the swing states.  So,is she the best "man" for the job?  Read More »

President Brownback?

Hillary might have a fight on her hands?  I just read where Republican Senator Sam Brownback is raising money to campaign for his shot at being our next president.  Hmm, I don't know anything about him, so you bet I will be researching his name.  The only thing that I do know is he is ANTI-abortion.

His whole campaign sounds like it is going to focus around bringing America back to family values and renewing our culture.  Okay, so who is going to set the standards for these values and culture?  I'm sure many Republicans are going to support him, but I'm afraid if this is going to be the big "issue" he plans on taking on, well, he might not be a shoe in.  Wonder if he knows that the majority of the House and Senate are Democrats?  If not, maybe someone should tell him?(sarcasm)  Read More »

RACE- It Still Gets in Our Way!

I guess I have been living in my own little world far too long.  I know that racism exist, I am well aware that some people can not see past their own "skin color", but to have school systems choosing who will go to a certain school because of their race is so, so, 1950's.  That is what I thought, but evidently I was wrong.  I've read two articles today to show how this is still alive and well in today's society.  One case being in Kentucky the other in Washington.   Read More »

Treehugger

Tagged:  •

I have been called a treehugger on more than one occasion.  I almost take it as a compliment!  As we all know, Global warming and pollution of mother earth is a big issue of today's society.  I just started becoming more enviornmentally friendly over the last few years, and realized there was a lot to learn.  I use the energy friendly light bulbs, recycle, try and use less paper than needed, and so forth.  It's a little extra work, but it is worth it!!  Read More »

Shut the F@#k Up

Tagged:  •

After a long day of blogging, I was driving home to do some laundry and feed my beautiful doggy, Lilly.  I checked my voicemail and got a very disturbing message from my friend.  She was telling me how she was in the Wal-Mart parking lot and overheard a "trashy" woman who was putting her children in the car.  One child was maybe 3 years old, where the other was at most, 4 months old.  The baby was screaming and crying, which isn't that what 4 month old babies do best, and this woman was yelling as loud as the child, "Shut the F@#k up!"  You've gotta be kidding me right?  Read More »

President Hillary Clinton?

So, it's almost official.  Hillary is taking closer steps to her presidential run in 2008.  I just read where she has asked some top New York Democrats to help her IF she would run for president.  I feel that it is safe to say that she's going to run.  I'm not sure why she's being so cautious, but she is.  Maybe she's learned from President Bush about saying things he didn't mean?   Read More »

Does Obama Have a Chance at the Presidency?

Many feel that Obama would be a great president.  Others do not.  I don't know everything I need to know to make that decision; hoever, I do find him to be a pretty big canidate just by his "stage presence".  It seems that he has that special way to warm up to people- some who might not know it before it's too late.

I just read an article about Obama and think it would be informative for anyone who is trying to decide who will be worthy of being the President of the United States in 2008.  I urged folks to go to votesmart.org earlier, and I want to stress that this site is so informative!!  You should visit the site if you haven't.  I promise you won't regret it :)  Read More »
