The topic of religion is always an uncomfortable one to deal with. Yes, I know that I live in a country that is primarily Christian, but that does not mean I have to be. This is why I am currently undecided. Out of all the religions, though I am closest to Christianity (being an in-and-out kind of Christian myself), this is the religion that makes me the angriest.

Living life in a constant fear is what we, as human beings, do. Cursed with free thinking minds, we fear the unknown, we fear heights, spiders, clowns, death, and oh, did I mention everything? But honestly, who believes that jumbled mess of words? We are the most fortunate creatures the earth has to offer, so why is it that we must go throughout our time here in fear?

One day surfing the web I came across a very disturbing website with hundreds of members who, to my surprise were embracing anorexia and bulimia as a lifestyle; well, a majority of them anyway. And as I delved deeper into the sites pages, from the warning message on the first page, to the forums, and the thinspiration pictures, I found two sides of the story, and a community of friends.

I believe in companionship and learning how to trust. Thinking of this I recall one day working at the animal clinic and seeing, or rather hearing, a dog that was either very much in pain, or terribly afraid. Even though I’ve seen many hurt animals walking through the treatment room or the waiting room, there has always been a level of sympathy I have not been able to stray away from.
