School Blood

Violence is everywhere nowadays. It has been for several years. The one place where violence shouldn't be is school. It's gotten so bad that police have to patrol the hallways. When I first entered junior high school there was at least three fights a day. My school was rated the worst in it's district. They were fighting over frivolous things.  Read More »

The Haves and Have Not

I first learned about Karl Marx and his theory in the 10th grade and until recently I realized that I fit the category he created. He believed in the haves and have nots. I am somewhere in between. Many times I have had to go without simply because I had not. My parents are not lazy and they work. They just did not have.  Read More »

Pregnancy crisis

Tagged:

Something's in the air. There seems to be a pregnancy crisis among teenagers and pre-teens. Everywhere I turn I see a young girl pregnant. What's happening? Once there was a nine-year-old that gave birth to twins. Nine! Who's responsible? They know too much and they have the wrong information. The foundation of their lives is just beginning and their starting one for someone else.  Read More »

cell phone madness

There isn't a day that goes by I don't see more than ten people on their cell phone at any given time. And no I'm not exaggerating. At school there is a constant beeping and ticking noise because everyone is texting someone about the latest gossip. Vibrating noises replace the low murmur of whispers and talking.  Read More »

I am a huge movie fan of all types. I watch all the award ceremonies too. I am always glad when I see someone rewarded for their performances. Especially when they are black. But, something has come to my attention. Whenever a black person wins an award such as an oscar, emmy, golden globe they have completely played someone opposite of their normal character.  Read More »

It isn't anymore

Just about everyday I see Black boys and men standing on the corners of the street selling dope. Their pants are down exposing what was meant to private and the way they feel about themselves is just plain obivious. As a black individual wanting progress in her community that pains me. There isn't excuse for that type of behavior. Oh, but I hear one. "It's the white man's fault." I beg to differ. It's the internal black man's fault. Thanks to our ancestors that excuse is not an option. Martin Luther King, Jr., Booker T. Washington, Rosa Parks, and others strived for the black race to have a voice. They succeeded, but to what degree. The black race is mute, and only because we want to be. How are we supposed be heard and have a voice when we can't read or write. Almost none of my high school peers can compose  a decent sentence and conduct themselves in a civilized manner. I read that a 21-year-old black man is supposed to dead or imprisoned. I hate to think that if our ancestors were alive today they'd be  in tears and think that all they've accomplished was in vain. Today is a sad today.                                                                       Read More »

Recently I've discovered that something bothers me more than I thought it did. Rape. Since the talk about the Duke rape it hit me. Someone dear to me was a victim and it was only disscussed once; when it happend. In my opinion noone deserves to be raped. It's a violation of divine and civil rights.  Read More »

In today's society people object to many things. One thing that is a hot topic is the issue of abortion. Some think it's wrong and others whatever. There are many reasons for having an abortion. Not all of them are right or wrong, but they have one thing in common; both the choices will have conflict.  Read More »
