Do people still gather together around the table to eat?

Today in society, we are all well aware of how great technology has become. We can not only use our cellphones, but we can use the internet more and more. Myspace for instance is great for communication. I love the concept of it all. Though it does have its downsides, I think it is a great tool that we can all use to keep in touch with people. It lets us reaffirm that we are not alone.

I hope I'm not the only one who sees how high the obesity rates among children are. I realize all of the factors that contribute to the rise in obesity. Yes, its because of overeating. Yes, its because of the lack of physical inactivity. Yes, its because of heredity. But really, I think that even knowing these facts, ignorace becomes one more cause to the rise in obesity.

I can't believe the lengths that pre-nursing students have had to go through just to get into a nursing program! I got lucky and got into a great school with a great program. However, it didn't come easy.

College is just so darn expensive! Being a student, you have to worry about bills, insurance, books, etc. Then, when you plan on going to college, you have to add on for your tuition, and room and board, and then for your gas, and other misc. expenses. It just doesn't stop!!

Last month a boy named Larry King was murdered for being gay. He asked a fellow male classmate to be his Valentine. Later on, the classmate killed him. The thing is... they were both in the 8th grade. It bothered me that this was a hate crime. But what bothered me most was that this was a crime committed by someone who hasn't even reached high school!

Video games have been a huge thing in this day in age for younger people. Being young myself, I've enjoyed playing on the Xbox 360 and on the Nintendo Wii. While I have no problem with playing games, in actuality, I think playing video games is a better way to spend time rather than being out on the streets doing who knows what.
