Soccer fans

Tagged:

Hey everyone. I am a soccer fan. I do not play much anymore but I love to watch soccer. My favorite team is Manchester United and my favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo. I also like Portugal and Morocco's team. What about you? Favorite teams, least favorite, favorite player(s)?

What do you think about the World Cup 2006, should Italy have won? I was hoping that either Portugal or France could have won. Zidane retired like 2 games afterwards, I was hoping he could have had 2006 as one of his victories. I heard that the reason he head-butted the player from Italy is because he made a racial comment to him, anyone know exactly what it was?

Netherlands to issue a total ban on Muslim veils

I myself and a Muslim, I am an American Muslim and I came acrossed this article today and was a little stunned. In my opinion, I believe that the Netherlands should not be able to enforce this law of not wearing the hajab, a face covering veil. It is in the interest of Muslim women to wear veils because of religious reasons; not to stir up "security concerns." Why does the hajab, veil, make government officials concerned of security reasons because it is merely just a covering worn by women to make themselves less noticed by men and to keep bad eyes away. I do not believe that government regulations should interfere with religious beliefs....what is your opinion?

This day in history, October 20th

This day in history many events occured. In 1803, The Senate ratified the Lousiana Purchase. In 1964, the 31st president of the United States of America, Herbert Hoover, died in New York at age 90. In 1973, The Sydney Opera House was opened by Queen Elizabeth the second. Do you believe that knowing any of these facts are important, why or why not? Do you think that everyone should search and be familiar about what occured each day in History? Last year in 11th grade, my teacher Coach Zeller assigned us to find the current event and what happened each day in history and we were to put it in our journals. This counted almost 20 percent of our grade, do you think he took that assignment too seriously? Or do you believe he was doing his students a favor?  Read More »
