Brokeback Molehill
I felt like I was one of the last people to watch Brokeback Mountain. There have been so many jokes floating around, the movie had become the new excuse to make jokes about gays, as Pee-Wee Herman had been the lightning rod for masturbation jokes and Michael Jackson and the Catholic church had been for molestation jokes. So I felt like I was the last person on the planet who owned a TV and DVD player and yet had not watched the movie.

Where Halloween Originated.
Halloween is an annual celebration, but just what is it actually a celebration of? And how did this peculiar custom originate? Is it, as some claim, a kind of demon worship? Or is it just a harmless vestige of some ancient pagan ritual? The word itself, "Halloween," actually has its origins in the Catholic Church. It comes from a contracted corruption of All Hallows Eve. November 1, "All Hollows Day" (or "All Saints Day"), is a Catholic day of observance in honor of saints.

Why is this man still alive? A Tormented Mind SNAPS-George Emil Banks
The state Supreme Court yesterday stopped the execution of mass murderer George Emil Banks, who was scheduled to die by lethal injection tonight. The high court ordered the Luzerne County Court to hold a hearing to determine whether Banks is competent to be executed. Lawyers said that hearing might not happen for months.
The execution warrant signed by Gov. Ed Rendell expires at midnight. In a methodical rampage in 1982, Banks killed 13 people, including his five children, their four mothers and four others, in the Wilkes-Barre area. He was deemed competent to stand trial, and the jury rejected his insanity defense, sentencing him to death in June 1983. Yesterday, the state Supreme Court ordered a hearing on Banks' mental state to comply with a 1986 U.S. Supreme Court decision. That ruling says it is unconstitutional to execute defendants who do not understand the proceedings. Banks' attorneys say he is too mentally ill to be executed. A spokesman for the state Department of Corrections said Banks has not been moved from death row at Graterford state prison to the State Correctional Institution at Rockview in Centre County, where the execution was to have taken place.

The conviction and disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa
In 1967, Hoffa was convicted of attempted bribery of a grand juror and sentenced to fifteen years in prison. In 1971, however, he was released when Republican President Richard Nixon commuted his sentence to time served on the condition he not participate in union activities for ten years. Hoffa was planning to sue to invalidate that restriction in order to reassert his power over the Teamsters when he disappeared at around 2:30pm on July 30, 1975 from the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox Restaurant in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. He had been due to meet two Mafia leaders, Anthony "Tony Jack" Giacalone from Detroit and Anthony "Tony Pro" Provenzano from Union City, New Jersey.

Fundraiser "idea" help for my brothers
Here's the deal. We live near Boston and there is a man that takes kids to Europe every April to play in "EURO/US Games, boys and girls go. This is for hockey! Now, the deal is that the kids all have to raise their money to go.
Most of the families that go are well off and do not need to do any fundraising. The man that runs the program offers usually two different raffles, one for the Patriots and on for the Red Sox. Since we have only lived in Massachusetts for 4 years and we don't have any family in this state it is very hard for us to sell these items. They can also recruit kids to go to Europe. If the kids don't live in Ma. they would just have to fly over here and leave from Boston for the trip.

Remember the "little things", on 9-11 they saved some lives
After Sept. 11th, one company invited the remaining members of other companies who had been decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to share their available office space. At a morning meeting, the head of security told stories of why these people were alive..... and all the stories were just:
