Today is Women's Day. We have entered the stage where we possess a nice amount of freedom. But is that freedom good enough? It seems that since more equal opportunity exists than previously, we are content to think we have achieved the pinnacle of freedom. If so, why do women still typically earn less than men? Why are there so few women in public office? Looking abroad, how many women continue to live in oppression while we do and even care little about their struggles?

*President* Bush
Yes, many of us dislike him. Undoubtedly, his plans have proved ineffective at best.
But these truths still don't justify hysterical conspiracy theories of an overnight totalitarian Bush Regime. The president has only confirmed *two* conservative judges, not nine. True, the Republican party has the majority, but it is by no means united behind the President. And so far, the checks and balances are still in place and working. Many of you are upset over the Oregon law, but physician assisted suicide was legalized there not a few years ago while President Bush was still in office. Simply because he has the title doesn't mean he holds unlimited power.
Realism
Please, let's have an accurate view of those who oppose us and engage in mature discourse. Even if your opinion is correct, you do nothing to win people over to your side by irrational hate speech or misjudging the arguments of the opposition.
So we want respect? Let's prove we're worthy of it.
