Warning: this is kind of out of date because I just brought over from a blog on another site.

But these words have been trapped inside my head for long enough, and dispelling the pressure in small doses to people such as my mother is virtually ineffective, not to mention dangerous. I feel like I don't have anyone to talk about . . .

I'm supposed to write about the best trait or traits of someone to whom I've looked up.  I couldn't think of one person whom I admired more than anyone else, so I'm just writing what I can right now. 

I have admired most of my high school teachers, in one way or another.  Most of them were very imaginative, had an excellent sense of humor, and really made learning fun.  Most of them were also quite organized, something that I really hope to achieve at some point in my life.  All constructive criticism and ideas for ways in which to expand it are welcome, b/c I can't really think of anything else to say.  

If immigrants are adding as much to our economy as people say, then perhaps it would be a better idea for them to try to go back to their home countries and work for democracy and better economies where it matters the most to them.  North America minus Latin America plus Europe should not be seen as the only countries to which a person can go if they wish to get a good education or a dec

So I wonder who's fueling this big Ethanol campaign?  ADM?  They certainly would profit from it, what with their being the biggest ethanol processors in the world.  Where would society be concerning alternative fuel if it weren't for ADM to tell us what they want for us?  Probably still chugging along, ever a slave to foreign oil. 

There's a problem with using ethanol, though, that most people -- including ADM -- have probably not realized and won't realized until it's too late.  Ethanol comes from corn.  Corn depletes the soil -- fast. Pretty soon the Midwest is going to be a wasteland because of all this mad corn-growing -- corn-growing not for food human consumption but to fill our gas tanks and to become animal feed on factory farms. 

How have I gotten the shaft in my high school career?  Let me count the ways . . .  In the school's ever-dwindling music department which the entire school completely ignores unless it has to do with Pep Band.  Then the student body goes and practically worships this weird group called "Holy Rollers" that seems to literally grow in number at every performance, and got together at the beginning of this school year b/c someone finally decided to act upon the fact that the student body needs some sort of group to lead it at Mass and prayer services (yep, it's a Catholic school).  I'd say at least half of the people in this thing aren't in band or choir, and have little musical training outside of this group.  The worst part is that they've sung the EXACT SAME six or so songs all year.  Yet for some reason, they all get to go and practice for like two hours before every performance.  It's agonizing and asinine . . .
