Alright, day five is the origin of life on Earth. It talks
about god making all the animals and then making man on day six. Now,
scientifically speaking, we know that two days in a bit short for evolution to
have run its course, hence the argument between Evolutionists and Creationists.  Read More »

Atheist Commentaries. Genisis 1:6-1:19

Alright, on day one, god is basically laying the corner-stones for his creation, getting a lot of stuff out of the way. On day two, the serious creation begins and there are still a lot of odd little contradictions, especially between the biblical account and what we know of the Universe. And we get to day four without god having made any animals.  Read More »

Despite the logical flaw known as Circular Logic (the assumption as a premise that the Conclusion is true), Biblical Arguments are very commonly used in debate to uphold faith. In response to that, I am going to the source. I am looking at the bible, chapter by chapter and writing an atheistic commentary to it.  Read More »

One of the ways that the Bush Government has attempted to attack war-protesters is by saying that they are being disloyal by not supporting the troops. This mindset angers me for a variety of reasons. One of those reasons is the use of the term "the war". This suggests that people are protesting the war on terror. I happen to think that the idea of a war against a tactic is strange. However, I support the military presence in Afghanistan because I believe there is a threat there and that we should be fighting the Taliban. I do not support the Iraqi War for a variety of reasons. Article of Faith

Tagged:

An argument that I have often seen used in religious debates on ProU is that belief in god is an article of faith and that belief in god should not have to do with evidence or proof or logic.

However, it seems logical to me that this sentiment, that god is above evidence, is probably a fairly modern way of looking at belief. Before advances in science began to show discrepancies between the natural world and the history of the world as told by the old and new testament, it would have been logical to believe in god. How else could the Universe and everything in it have come into existence. Now, however, science has been making strides in its ability to explain the Universe without god so that belief in god must be an article of faith.
