I was raised Jewish. I love that heritage and everything, but to be honest, my family is more of high holidays; once in a blue moon we attend services type of Jew. I strongly believe that at the end of every year it is necessary to ask forgiveness for all the wrong you’ve done, to start a new year with a clean slate and all.

stress
When does a hardy schedule get to be too much? I'm in a magnet program, an accelerated program that specializes in leadership and law. As a senior leadership major, I'm currently finishing up my internship from the first semester, starting my senior thesis to tie in everything I've learned in the program, taking AP Comparative Government in a quarter, and working on the Human Rights fair.

A separate peace essay... gay themes?
For a project in class we were given the option to read one of a list of like five books. After I read it, I immediately went to my teacher asking her if I could argue the gay themes, which were apparent to me, at least. She replied no, with the simple reply that she didn't think there was enough evidence, but still I was too motivated to change my idea now.

What is the role of the internet in our society?
One of the schools I applied to gave me the following prompt. and as I've been goofing aroud on here it's made me ponder what's next after the internet?

The recent shootings.
Being the one whom goes to the ghetto school, I often am immersed in situations that aren’t the safest. There are often race riots, and guns at school, that I can easily deal with. The fact that my school gets so much media attention for those types of situations, but none for all the amazing things we do is a joke.

Celebrity Endorsements
My question is who cares?
The other day a friend told me that 50 cent was endorsing Hilary. Cool? I guess. Surely I’m not going to CHANGE my opinion just because 50 supports someone. I mean yea it my gather uneducated voters who decide that just because 50 says so. I mean seriously though. The type of person who would honestly be swayed by that, do we really want them even voting?

Charlie Bartlett: a movie review
Last night I went to see Charlie Bartlett. It was surprisingly good. But don’t take my word for anything I like every movie I see. I’m the type of person that chuckles at all the right times and laughs at all the wrong ones. It was similar to Juno, but a lot deeper. Anton Yelchin was fantastic. And it was overall hilarious, but the dark side is what has stuck in my head.

UN declaration of Human rights
Last week for the Human Rights Fair we were asked to reflect upon the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This is the paper I wrote for class.
The document is extremely relevant to every day life. It is supposed to protect the essential rights of all human beings. The amendments are clearly defined, and useful for the protection of humanity.
