Has everyone heard about the man who walked across America yet? This is news to me and I thought I would share it with any of you who have not heard it yet either.
Steve Vaught walked from California to New York City, which took more than a year. He began the journey to lose weight, but also to find happiness. He began the journey from his home in Ocenaside, CA, on April 10, 2005. He weighed 410 pounds and was suffering from severe depression over an accident involving the death of two pedestrians over 15 years ago. During the trip, he lost about 100 pounds. He slept in tents and motels. He went through 15 pairs of shoes, more than 30 pairs of socks, and 6 backpacks. He never measured the mileage or how much food he ate.
