Eating disorders #2

Tagged:

I was just watching Oprah and I was shocked by one of her guests on the show.  The woman was suffering from anorexia, and she was 5'6" and weighed only 80 pounds.  She looked horrible.  And she said that every time she looks in the mirror, all she sees is fat.  She is nothing but skin and bones, but she can pinch a millimeter of SKIN on her stomach, and she thinks she's fat.  It was so sad.  Then, Oprah had interviewed one of her children, who was very young, and he had said that he wished his mother would eat more and he couldn't stand how his mother and father fight all the time about his mom not eating.  It was so sad how much this little boy understood about her condition.  He said that she would never be able to gain weight and get better because she never ate enough.  I hope that this woman will get help if only for her children.  She said that her boys have already started being worried about junk food and won't eat fattening stuff.  She is going to really hurt her children if she doesn't get help for herself and her kids.  I feel so sorry for her.

Speed traps

Tagged:

In my city, we have had construction going on on our interstate for a couple years.  The speed limit is 45 mph all 24 hours of the day  Lately, the police have been mad that no one obeys the speed limit, and there is a fear that workers are going to be killed.  The other night, I was driving home at 10 at night (there were no workers out AT ALL) and there was a speed trap sitting on  Read More »

Sexy or slutty?

Tagged:

What do you guys think about getting all "hoochie-fied" to go to the clubs?  I honestly love the feeling of getting ready to go out, and getting all dressed up and feeling sexy.  I tend to wear casual clothes most of the time, and don't dress up alot, so when I go up I get the chance to show off my sexy side.  I personally don't dress slutty (at least not in my opi  Read More »

Cash for babies

The president of Moscow has offered families cash to have more children to help halt the dramatic decline of population in the country.  The country's population is declining by 700,000 every year!  The president offered the couples about $55 a month for the first child and about $100 for the second.  Average wages in Moscow are below $100 a week, so this could really help these  Read More »

Britneys pregnant?

Tagged:

Is anybody else tired of hearing about Britney Spears but me?  I learned today that she is pregnant with her second child.  I'm not sure that this is such a good idea after her experience with dropping her last baby on his head and riding with him in the front seat without the protection of the car seat.  I always complain about people having children that they don&#39  Read More »

free birth control

Tagged:  •

This morning I went to get my birth control shot at planned parenthood.  While I was there, I was thinking.  How can so many people be pregnant with babies that they don't even want when birth control is so readily available?  I understand that not all cities have planned parenthood and other low-income health clinics like that.  But if there is one in your town, there is no excuse.  Many people can get free birth control, it all depends on how much you make.  I myself have to pay about $30 every three months for the depo-provera shot.  Which is not alot at all when you think about the cost of a child!  I know that I am not ready to have a child, and I am doing what I have to do make sure I don't.  I just don't understand why other people can't do the same when it's so easy to get birth control.  And PP also gives away free condoms by the bagful!  If people would use this resource, there wouldn't be so many murders (aka abortions) happening all the time.

Goodbye Will and Grace!

Tagged:

I am very sad that Will and Grace are going to have their last episode this week!  I love this show, I think the writing is brilliant, and I'm very sad to see it go.  When this show came out, it was such a big deal because it was a show about a gay man and his female best friend.  But I feel that the show has become so much more in the last 8 years.  This show has made me l  Read More »

Retail sucks

Tagged:

I have worked for a department store for the last three years, and I think that everyone should have to work in retail at least once in their lives.  It is amazing the type of people you meet, and I don't mean that in a good way.  People are crazy!  There are so many customers that come in every day who are so incredibly rude and treat us like crap.  They have no respect fo  Read More »
