This is an incredible story!  This proves that you are never too old to follow your dreams and do whatever it is that makes you truly happy!

Takao Arayama, aged 70 years, 7 months, and 13 days, from Tokyo, scaled the 29,035-ft peak.  He climbed the mountain as part of a five-member team.  This climb won Arayama a place in the Guiness Book of World Records.  Arayma started climbing when he was in his 40s and has also scaled Mount McKinley in Alaska.  Arayama has safely decended to a lower place on the mountain to rest before making the climb down the mountain.  Read More »

To be blonde or not to be blonde?

What is today's facination with being blonde?  Many people (myself included) are constantly dying their hair, trying to get to that perfect shade of blonde.  And for what?  Being blonde doesn't make you any more attractive or likeable!  I have been debating with myself for the last week on whether or not I should go back to being blonde.  I have dyed my hair since I was 14 (I'm now 22) and I just now got my hair back to its natural color (light brown).  Now that it's all grown out, I am thinking about dying it again...   Read More »

Alligator attack #2

Alligator attacks are not common in Florida.  In the last 58 years, there have only been 17 known fatal attacks.  In the last week, three fatal attacks have been discovered.

I wrote about one already, a beautiful model whose arms were found in the belly of an alligator, and the rest of her body was found in a canal.  A 23-year-old woman was attacked by an alligator while snorkeling near Lake George.  The people she was visiting the lake with was going to meet her and found her inside the gator's mouth.  They started poking the alligator's eyes and tried to open its jaws, eventually freeing their friends.  Sadly, she was already dead when she was pulled from the gator's mouth.   Read More »

What were this baby's parents doing?

An 18-month-old baby's hand was cut off when it got caught in a conveyor belt at a chocolate factory she was touring with her family in Honolulu, Hawaii.  By the time the firefighters arrived, employees had bandaged the little girl and had pulled the hand from the conveyor belt.  The hand was put on ice and the girl was taken to the hospital, where her condition has not been released.   Read More »

And these are the people teaching the leaders of tomorrow?

I was completely appalled by this article and felt the need to share it with everyone.  This is horrible.  Michael Maxwell, a teacher at Central High School in St. Joesph, Missouri, assigned his students in his beginning drafting class to write a paper on who they would like to kill and how they would like to do it!!!  The teacher says that the subject was meant as a writing prompt,  Read More »

A teenager from Texas was bitten by a bat while he slept in his bed and contact rabies.  It took nearly a month after the bite for the 16-year-old to develop symptoms, and he died a week after he became ill.  Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms develop, according to the Texas Children's Hospital.  A bat flew in through an open window while the boy was napping.  He f  Read More »

Mother charged with killing her baby

I just read this article on yahoo news and I was totally appalled!  This woman was accused of killing her 9-month-old baby and wounding her 3-year-old and said that demons told her to do it.  The police found this woman in the closet holding the toddler, who had multiple stab wounds, and the infant girl was slashed in the chest and abdomen and wrapped in a white sheet and placed in  Read More »

Alligator attack

Ok, this story was pretty creepy to me so I thought that I would share it with everyone.  I have a continuous love affair with Florida, and hope some day to make St. Petersburg my home.  But this story made me hesitate, if only for a minute.  Wildlife officers captured an alligator in Sunrise, FL which they think fatally attacked a woman while she was out jogging.  They found two human arms in the alligator's stomach.  The woman was last seen dangling her feet in the water under a bridge, but no one saw the actual attack.  I am a jogger myself, and I was not aware that alligators actually attacked humans if they were not provoked.  But this is the 18th confirmed fatal alligator attack in Florida since 1948, when 9 other deaths unconfirmed.  Scary stuff.  Read More »
