Hi All!
Jaimalene's blog
"And the trouble is. . .
We don't know who we are instead."
That's a lyric from a Jars of Clay song that has been on my mind a lot lately.
Who are we? As a race? Is there such a thing as human nature and if so, what does it encompass? Why do we do the things we do? Would we do things differently if we defined ourselves differently, if we remembered who we are instead?
I am indignant!
I apologize in advance to any and all who read this. I am exceedingly angry and will probably use several swear words in the following blog. Again, my apologies for transcending the decorum of polite language.
Hallmark Doesn't Make a Card for This
A Scientist and A Christian
As I've mentioned before, this is my sixth year of college. I believe I have also mentioned that previously I was a physics major. What I might not have mentioned (for no reason other than it hasn't come up) is that I am a Christian. For those of you that find that oxymoronic there is more! I got my education in the sciences at a Christian universtiy. It's true.
Walking Away and Looking Back
It's been just under a year since I decided to change my major and transfer schools. That wouldn't have been such an unusual decision if it hadn't been my senior year of college at a $30,000 a year institution.
Bread
What makes humans human? What seperates us from the other great apes, if anything?
I once heard a speaker say humans are set apart by their ability to make bread. The creativity it takes to turn wheat into flour and flour into bread. The prior planning it takes to plant, harvest, and store wheat.
