I posted the blog below as a response to another thread but it seemed good enough and perhaps controversial enough where I thought it deserved a blog of its own.

I learned long ago never to go into Wal-Mart on the 1st day of the month. I don’t know how things work elsewhere but in Wyoming poor people get their new WIC /Food Stamp Cards on the 1st day of the month. These things are not actually stamps at all but work more like Debit cards. Wal-Mart is swamped with people spending and stocking up and the checkout lines are interminable.
