America and Her People

On a day-to-day basis, I wouldn't say that I'm too selfish. Frivolous, yes, selfish, not really. But as a whole, I think all of us are very selfish - all the time, too.

Americans, people envy us, people hate us, but they will never be us. High thinking on my part? Of course. I'm American, that's how I think. Stereotypes will NEVER go away, just remember that part.

Frivolous Spenders

One thing that kind of pisses me off is when people complain they don't have money for important things, yet they go off and spend it on frivolous things. Like video games.

Um. From what I recall, video games are not as important as education. Or...I don't know. A car. Not even a nice car, just a car. Food? Clothing. Shelter.

Really, now.

Mixed Origins

Growing up I always felt different. Most of the time it was subconsciously, but every time I would be at a family function, I could feel eyes on me. When someone asked me what I "was" as if I were a thing... I felt like I didn't belong. Like I wasn't like everyone else.

Building Up

I used to take my dog outside at night before heading to bed and be able to look straight ahead into a field of nothing. It was peaceful, calm, the best thing to look at at night, especially since I live at a somewhat busy intersection. The other night, I was shocked by reality when I took my dog out, as I do every night, and looked straight ahead. No longer did I see a field of nothing.

Financial Aid

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •

A few days ago I got a letter in the mail from the university I attend, recapping the financial aid package I received for the 2007-2008 school year. Today, I received another financial aid letter outlining the funds I'll be receiving for the 2008-2009 school year. My heart was broken when I realized they revoked a bunch of grants I was awarded last year.

Why People Make Me Bitter

Tagged:  •    •

Okay, so really I'm a big fan of people. I love watching them, interacting with them, etc. I love it. However, when I'm at work, that boat sometimes flips over completely. Every now and then I get customers that make rude remarks, throw things at me, and are just total grumps.

Skipping Class, Wasting Money

The university I attend is pretty good, not anything great like Yale or Princeton or even UCLA. Heck, I'm pretty sure most people in other parts of the country have never heard of the University of the Arts. Around here, though, people know about it and it has one of the best illustration programs in the country, so I guess it's a little more prestigious than I put it out to be.

Illegals: The Puppeteers of the US Government

Okay, I'll admit -- I'm one of those young'uns that have a Facebook. No, I'm not all about social networking, but I figured I needed a place where I could catch up with old friends after I've forgotten about them for some time. Aside from asking the mundane questions of "how are you?" and "what's up?", I often post small "notes" about random things. Some serious, some not.
