Now Spying on Americans

Aren't there privacy laws against these type of issues?

I read today that the government (Bush Adminstration) has been spying on innocent citizens phone conversations. Is this really for the safety of our country? Lawmakers are trying to find answers about what information was disclosed from these conversations, and why where calls screened.

It was reported that certain phone company's released records for millions of their customers to NSA (National Security Agency), so that they could keep a tabs on calls being made... for security puposes, after Sept. 11, 2001.  Read More »

Jerry Springer

Did you know that Jerry Springer, the talk show host who is know for bringing angry people out to confront each other verbally and often physically, was once mayor? He was once mayor of Cincinnati. He even received a Juris doctorate (first degree in law).

After having tried to avoid the chaos that his show produces,  I haved failed, managing to be consumed by the boxing matches created on stage. It's hard to believe that he was actually a mayor, and received a law degree. It's interesting to know that he laid all of that to the side to pursue a tv talk show career.  Read More »

Subliminal Messages...Is it MIND CONTROL?

Have you ever noticed the naked lady on the drink machine?

No? Most people don't notice her, but she's there. Take a look at your nearest coca cola drink machine... the ice on the big coca cola can is formed in the shape of a woman.

Or what about the sexual messages in the Disney movies?  In 'Aladdin' when the tiger is growling, if you have the proper equipment, you can hear a really low voice saying "Good teenagers, take off your clothes." There are other instances of Disney workers getting bored and messing with the movies. In the 'Lion King', when Simba is crying for his dad, and he looks in the sky, the stars roughly spell out SEX. Disney has encountered lawsuits for the messages in their cartoons.  Read More »

Have you all ever thought about what actually goes on in the kitchen of a restaurant?

I have worked on about three different food settings. I have always found it interesting... I've seen co-workers drop food on the floor and pick it up and still serve it. I have seen food prepared by someone who hasn't washed their hands. I've seen food played with, like tossed like a football.  Read More »

This Seat is TAKEN

Overcrowding in the public school system is on a high. At one school, the class is held in a small dressing room carved out of a nook between the auditorium stage and the cafeteria. Now that is sad! Students should be in content inspired classrooms. Meanign they should be in a room that is decorated with the subject that is taight in the class. It should look like a classroom, and should have enough space. A lot of schools have also resulted in having trailers. When there are more than five classes held in trailers it's basically time to add more classrooms to the building or either build another school for the increase in student population. What is the Census for if 'we' can't avoid problems like this?  Read More »

How Secure Are We?

I received a letter in the mail today. THe letter was not in my mailbox, because, even after submitting my change of address to the post office, they have still failed to forward my mail to my new address. Thus I had mail laying around the mail area. Point #1 We are not as secure as things should be. Anyone could have gotten my mail. Some kind of way valuable information could have been in the letter that could have been detrimental to me, had it gotten into the wrong hands.  Read More »

In God We Trust

This country has changed so much since the laws, objectives that our founding fathers laid down. The United States has changed a great deal. As a country we have moved from church state being one entity, to the separation of church and state. Still to this day it's not pc (politcally correct) to mix the two.

Not everyone believes in God but i dont understand the whole debate over whether, "In God We Trust" should be removed from currency. The use of the phrase does not signify that the country is made up of christians, or that we all believe in God. I see it as a link to history, and how our country has evolved over the years. It's not used as a way to persuade or force religion on anyone. With the phrase on the currency or not, America will still be a diverse free country.  Read More »
