Big Brother Is Watching: tens of millions of Americans phone records given to the NSA

Tagged:  •    •    •

If you have read Orwell's 1984, Then you most certainly remember the passage, "War Is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Stregth." Well unforunatly our government has taken a turn to the worst, and even more horrible, Americans do not seem to be paying attention.

So for those who have, you all remember the last NSA scandal that has been going on since 2001. The United States government has been illegally tapping our phones without a warrant, or as I like to phrase it, illegal warrantless wiretapping. For those of you who argue that "we need to do this in a timely manner, and a warrant would slow us down," then keep in mind that the FISA Act of 1978 allows the government to wiretap first, and then get the warrant within 72 hours of the wiretap. And second, we have a constitution in this country, and the Fourth Amendment of the Bill of Rights clearly states that the right from unreasonable searches and seizures without a warrant shall not be infringed.   Read More »

Zacarias Moussaoui: Wanted Alive!

Tagged:  •    •    •

Zacarias Moussaoui was given life in prison. For once we had a smart jury. Zacarias Moussaoui obviously wanted to become a martyr. He is 37 years old, and may he live a long life. I hope he is put in the general population at the federal prison. If he is smart, the first thing he will do is punch a gaurd so he goes into solidary confinement. I hope he is not that smart.

However, there is a flip side. It seems that they charged him with an ex post facto law (they made the charge for his crime up after he committed it). Ex post facto laws are clearly unconstitutional. In fact, its one of the few rights that is garanteed in the constitution that is not in the bill of rights.  I feel he should have been charged with treason or conspiracy to mass murder. Hopefully this stupid mistake is corrected before hes set free because of it.  Read More »

moussaoui:give me liberty, give me death.

Tagged:  •    •    •

IF you have been under a rock the last several months, then you probably have not heard about moussaoui. Moussaoui is a convicted terrorist that knew about 9/11 and failed to say anything when arrested prior to the attack. How ommission is a crime, who knows? The government made an ex post facto law to convict him (which is unconstitutional, and that cant be disputed, its clearly stated)

However lets put that beside for now. During the trial the guy stated that he was supposed to fly a plane into the white house. He wasnt asked about this. He just said it. Furthermore, he continously wished that more americans died during the attack. Now, of course, the immediate response is: give the mofo the death penalty already! Well my response: Idiot, he wants death. A normal person does not convict themselves at their own trial. He incriminated himself entirely. He wants to be a martyr, and he wants to die. After all, he was going to kill himself anyway by flying the plane into the whitehouse. He failed. But his Muslim terrorist brothers (who are not true Muslims) wont look at him as a martyr, unless he does something to piss off the U.S. Whats better but to be executed by one of the only developed countries with the death penalty? My solution, give him life, and put him in the regular prison population. Ah street justice, and he wont die a martyr.  Read More »

Bush: War is costing to much! Social Security is going down the Drain! Record Breaking Deficits! No fear, tax breaks are here!

Tagged:  •    •

Poll numbers are the lowest ever for president Bush, with even fox news network having his approval ratings at 33%. After all, record breaking deficits and an unpopular war can really hurt a guy. But no fear, the Republican party is the party of less spending and fewer taxes. Well, they used to be. Apparently they have a new motto: Spend all the money we have plus some, and give the rich another 80 billion dollar tax cut, so when the democrats take office, they will be forced to unpolularly raise taxes because we fucked up. But they will get the blame for solving our unnoticed mistakes.  Thats right folks, Bush is giving another 80 billion dollar tax cut on top of all his other ones. This beauty is, guess what, for the rich! So top 1%, you can use trickle down economics, and give that 80 billion back to the poor. Because we all know that if you give the rich tax breaks, they will give more to the poor and the middle class. Ah what happened to the good old days when the government realized that the rich were greedy, and tax cuts are better given to the middle class and lower class that help biuld the upper class.  Read More »

McNickled and McDimed: Welcome to the new economy!

Tagged:  •    •    •    •
This is my speech that won 5th in the state of California in Original Advocacy in 2006! I was 8th in the state the year before for an anti Wal-Mart speech, which is also posted.  I feel that this speech is important for anyone under the age of 25, especially if you are not going to college (and the hardships of paying for college if you are).

Hello, my name is David, and I have some great information for you. Are you 16 years or older? Are you willing to put in long hours for little pay? Are you willing to be demeaned and undervalued? If so, have I got a job for you! We have a lot to offer here at McJacks Taco King Jr, including injuries on the job, sex discrimination, low wages, and best of all, low morale. We offer no benefits, no job protection, unpredictable work schedules, no training and no unions. In fact, if we even hear the word union, you can kiss your job good bye. And if you grieve your unlawful termination to the National Labor Relations Board, then we will fire you for some other reason. And don’t bother asking for a higher starting salary or set hours, because if you do, we will accidentally lose your application. But hey, who needs to sweat all that small stuff when you can be part of the fast-growing service economy!  Read More »

McDonalds: Minimum wage is too high!

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

If you havnt read my speech "McNickled and McDimed," then you may want to after this message. McDonalds cant handle the minimum wage anymore. They will be setting up call centers for their drive throughs. Thats right. McDonalds has found a way to outsouce minimum wage jobs. Now at the moment, the multi million dollar company claims that it will make the centers in North Dekota or elsewhere (ie to pay its employees federal minimum wage of 5.15. After all, some states minimum wage is as high as 7.35 an hour) But that wont be the end of it. If you haved called dell tech support recently, then you have had the pleasure of supporting the local Indian economy. Why pay an American 15 dollars an hour for call service when you can pay and indian that amount in a week, or even a month. If you have called Kodak, then you have spoken to a Philipino. Well, your fries, or at this point, they may change the name to flies because people that just learned English may have trouble saying fries, will be noted down by your local Indian from telecommunications in India.  Read More »

Wal-Mart, and how they are rolling back on America.

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

I wrote this speech a year ago ( I updated parts of it) And won 8th in the state of California. This speech is about how Wal-Mart is destroying America. If you saw my three part series, this is the same thing on one big section. If you want to read it in sections, check out my blog. You may also want to see "McNickled and McDimed." That is the speech I wrote this year. I am now 5th in the state.

A virus is sweeping across our nation. On appearance, it seems to benefit our lives, but in the long run, it may destroy the lives of millions. Job by job it kills the American dream. This epidemic has created 1.6 million jobs (CBS market watch), most of which pay below poverty level wages. In its rampage, it has destroyed manufacturing jobs that paid decent wages and it has killed small businesses and large corporations alike. Wal-Mart is infecting the United States, and is rolling back on America.                       Read More »

Pain at the Pump, and what we can do about it.

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

The national average of gas prices this morning was 2.93 a gallon. In my home town of Los Angeles, 2.93 was a bargain, if you could find it. But what is happening this time around. Their are no hurricanes, the refineries are working, and the companies recieved a 2 billion dollar tax cut from the government. To add to that, the quarterly profits of all the companies in the last three months of 2005 was 33 billion dollars, With Exxon Mobile recieving  over 10 billion dollars of that profit. To put that into perspective, we can compare that to Wal Mart, the richest retailer in the world. In 2005, Wal-Mart sold 312 billion dollars with of goods with a 12 billion dollar profit. Exxon Mobile got Wal-Marts yearly profit in a little over 3 months.  Read More »
