A Harmless Little Supreme Court Case, or Is It?

So I learned about a Supreme Court case today that I've never heard of before: Muller v. Oregon.

This case is Muller v. Oregon, decided in about the '20s or '30s (?), and its outcome was that Oregon was allowed to have a law limiting the hours that women could work.

Illegal Immigration (response)

The problem with illegal immigration (Mexican or otherwise), they don't get taxed, thus they aren't really "paying for living in the U.S.", so to speak.  Mexicans are the predominant group, but there are illegal immigrants of lots of other nations.   Read More »

Better welfare control

I was reading up on TANF (the "new" name for welfare) and I saw that the only restriction is a 5-year lifetime limit...Which means that if a person wants to, he or she can get welfare for 5 years straight.  Isn't that rediculous when there are many jobs to be filled.  Yes, they may be jobs of restauruant waiters, child caregivers (I know the daycare I worked in this summer kept nee  Read More »
