I find it funny how the U.S. is trying to stop every other country's nuclear program other than ours. Why? Because they'll just use them for bad. Is that Bush's logic? Every country other than us will just use nuclear research to make bombs and kill people. I think that if Iran wants to pursue a peaceful nuclear program, they have every right to. In fact, any country does. But every country is a risk to us. If we continue like this, soon we'll have no allies and we'll be completely alienated and considered an outcast by the rest of the countries. "Oh, the U.S. is complaining about Iran again. Why don't they just shut up and allow them to go about their business?" is something you might here in a future U.N. meeting. If it does pan out that Iran is going to be using the technology for weapons, then prepare to have your tax money used on another pointless war. Read More »

Iran's Nuclear Program: A Risk to the U.S.?
$2.7 trillion, Yet Less Money For Medicare?
Bush's new '07 budget puts more money into the war fund but less into Medicare. Does that make any sense to you? It doesn't to me. To me, the war is winding down and we need less money for it. But the economy is also going down, thus leaving more people unemployed and some even in poverty. They need things like Medicare and cutting the budget for it (and I heard they're also trying to make it harder for people to be approved) isn't going to help anything. Another thing I don't understand is how could President Bush underestimate the costs of the Afghanistan/Iraq wars and the relief effort for Hurricane Katrina victims? It just doesn't make any sense to me. Read More »
Super Gluttony
Super Bowl Sunday. Yet another day in American culture to idolize people that make too much money doing some stupid sport, eat way too much, and just generally be boarish, idiotic slobs. And to think, we are one of the richest and most envied countries in the world. It's a good thing the Super Bowl is always on a Sunday because most people would probably request the day off if it wasn't. If I was an employer and Super Bowl wasn't on a Sunday, I would reject every request I got for the day off. There's no reason for all the stupidity and gluttony that comes with the Super Bowl. Just like there is no reason for all of those things on every other big day/holiday in our society. Read More »
The ESRB Needs To Be Revamped
I don't think the ESRB should be held accountable for anything related to a murder suspect blaming a video game like Grand Theft Auto for his/her crimes but it seriously needs to make game ratings more clearly visible and needs stricter enforcement of its rules. The ESRB is too lenient in its ratings and adding one additional rating just makes things more confusing for parents and other adults (like grandparents or aunts/uncles) buying games for younger kids. The E10+ rating is very misleading. I mean, Everyone 10 and up? How is that different from just everyone? If a 10 year old can handle the content in those games, I'm sure a younger kid can too. Especially in today's society, where everything has to have sex, violence, and course langauge in it to be a hit song, movie, or TV program. So, if those three things are openly marketed even to little kids why not video games? Because, video games are still in their infancy as an excepted medium of entertainment. Look at movies when they first came out. And TV. Boy, was that big. I just think if the MPAA and the FCC can give good, accurate descriptions for movies and music, the ESRB should be able to do the same with video games. Read More »
Louisville: Murder Capital of the US?
As you can tell, I ended the title with a question mark. I'm not stating it is but it seems like every day, when I turn on the news someone has been shot, or stabbed, or beaten to death and actually makes me think that thought. Between a man dying in a house fire set by the landowner and an old lady getting shot by some teenager while he was robbing her, it just makes me sad. When I moved to Louisville from San Diego I thought it was going to be quiet and peaceful but it seems like everything is just in turmoil and disarray here. I seriously think this city needs either more cops, stricter laws, or at least more funding for the police department. Read More »
Boney Found Guilty; Camm Is A Definite
I know that I'm a little late in reporting this news but I've been busy with school work this past couple of days so I haven't been able to get on the internet too much. Charles Boney was found guilty of three counts of murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder. I'm glad with the jury's decision. I find it funny though, that the jury can't bring itself to give Boney a proper sentencing. They are requesting the judge to give Boney his sentence. Boney faces life in prison but the jury recommend the judge to not give him that sentence. With all of this happening, I think the jury in David Camm's trial will reach the same verdict. One thing I find strange though is that the prosecutor in Boney's trial tried to make it seem like Boney was the only one who killed Kim, Brad, and Jill Camm. Also, the defense for Camm is going to try to use the conviction of Boney as a reason Camm is innocent. I think it proves the opposite: Camm's guilt. Info from WLKY.com Read More »
