The Minuteman Project protested outside of the United Church of Christ in Simi Valley, California for giving refuge to a woman fleeing from I.C.E. (Immigration and Customs Enforcement, previously I.N.S.) Pro-immigrant demonstrators where there as well and all was peaceful until a Minuteman decided it was proper to pepper-spray a pro-immigrant protester, sending him to the hospital. The following are some images from the demonstration (courtesy of Indymedia) as well as my thoughts pertaining to these vigilante groups guising a resurgence of nativism with patriotism.

It's no secret to anyone that the Bush Administration has to be one of the most unpopular in recent memory. Some may even go so far as to say he is (was) the worst president in American history but that's mostly coming from our generation. My parents maintain that Carter and Nixon have Bush beat for that title.

I've known about the Political Compass survey for quite some time and have taken it in the past. I don't know if anyone else has encountered it before. It throws other factors into the mix instead of just relying on the traditional social scale that we're accustomed to seeing.
