Delayed starts

Well once again i wake up to another wonderful delayed start.  How often do most schools have these?  We have two of them every month.  Now its all fun for the time being but the down side is we have all these little half days and late starts we sit in school till june 14th.  It seems like it keeps getting longer and longer each year.  I'm kinda split on which i'd  Read More »

Crap on TV

how often do people read nowadays?  I feel like such a pariah sometimes.  i'll just be walking in a room somewhere with some thing like "Gulliver's Travels" in my hand and my friends'll be like "Dude why do you gotta be inteluctual?!"  uhh its a book bro lol.  TV just doesn't really do it for me.  There's tons of good books out there but every time i turn on the tv it just feels like something stupid.  Read More »

Absi- what?

remember abstinence?  I haven't heard that word since the 5th grade.  haha not to mention the fact that i probably spelled it wrong.  Oh well i know i can't spelel (sp?) but yeah all i ever hear now in school is how to keep your condoms in good condition so they work when you have a lot of sex.  i mean we don't even promote just being true to one partner.  there's a big focus on tellings all your partners if you have a disease from someone else.  yes, i believe people should be aware what to do in these situations but the best way to fix these is to not have sex at all.  i mean we watched this video in my Med skils class the other day where these kids are discuss with an adult certain percautions to take in their life and how to avoid STD's and this kid goes "but..  Read More »

Disney subliminal messages

yeah yeah i know we've all seen these before.  Like the one in aladdin where he allegedly says "Good teenagers take off your clothes!!" (it's at the part where he goes up to her balcony and the tiger is growling at him) or the part in the little mermaid where theres the wedding and the priest gets uhh arrosed.  or how about in the lion king where sima lies down in this  Read More »

2nd amendment

Didn't our right to bear arms origionate because we didn't have an orgnazied military and we needed civillians to regulate a militia to protect the colonies.  I don't really see why it is so important.  I mean ok some people want to hunt, and that shoulodn't be outlawed or anything but does anyone hunt with an m16 or an ak 47?  those are made to kill people not uhh deer.  so maybe we do need to protect ourselves ect but honestly theres a lot of gun violence in this country.  Also i don't get the idiots who say there should be a 48 hour background check before you can purchase a firearm.  I mean honestly why wouldn't you want to make sure the guy buying it isn't some kind of criminal.  well i guess the issue their is "it promots not even having the right to bear arms at all".  It's funny the biggest right some people care about is their ability to kill.  although you could say its their ability to protect, but i mean their wepons they kill people  Read More »

Privacy rights

ok i'll try to give a brief synposis of this crazy story.  they other night i looked out side and i could see a bunch of kids in my lawn (its like 11:30)  so it looks like they are about to throw bricks at my house.  so i run out and call the cops and see their license plate number.  a little while later they come back to pick up some girls shoe that fell off and i run out again to see who it is.  so they try to run me over with thi big full sized excursion.  The cops pull them over when they pull out of my sub.  they were all drunk.  But i'm not allowed to know who they were or even if they go to my school becuase they are under the age of 18.  I think if they didn't want people to know who they were, then they shouldn't drink underage, vandalize property, and try to run people over.  I mean what if i wanted to press charges? no i'm not allowed to becuase they aren't adults.  what are your thoughts on this?  Read More »

increaced minimum wage

so for those of you who live in michigan you know that govenor grandholm raised the minimum wage from 5.15 to 6.95.  and for those of you who live else where, well now you know.  So this girl was just bashing her for doing that and i don't really see why thats a bad thing.  5.15 an hour isn't nearly enough for someone to survive.  i mean i bet she'd think diffrently if she was born into a situation where her parents didn't own over 10 classic cars.  But seriously people need to eat out there. The cost of living rasies year after year after year.  But the minimum wage stays the same...for 10 years! i think that was a neccesary move not a condemable action.  Read More »

No child gets ahead

what does eerybody think abotu no child left behind?  In my school we're eliminating advanced placement calculous classes.  our administrator said its not fair to the kids that aren't smart enough to take those classes.  he said it hurts their feelings and makes them not want to try hard.  i think if we keep slowing down for the druggies who don't feel like trying hard in school, we'll all just become a lot stupider.  I'm glad i'm graduating becuase next year or possibly the year after that we'll only be offering four diffrent math classes at my school one for each grade.  taht way nobody feels bad!  the kids that don't challenge themselves don't feel stupid, actually they just don't care.  once again the kids who want to succede need to slow down for the kid who missed the midterm because he came to school drunk and got suspended.... yay  Read More »
