GPA requirements for parking

next year my school is starting a policy that any student that wants a parking space must recieve a 2.7 GPA or higher.  And i dont know why but their actually getting complaints about this.  I don't understand someones argument against that.  its a way to modivate students to succede.  and other than open door community colleges, there aren't any schools that would accept someone with a lower GPA.  And honestly a 2.7?  Thats not really much to ask.  I like the idea.  it shows if you aren't getting a 2.7 then you really don't need that spot or to even come to school at all if all you're interested in is wasting tax dollars  Read More »

minority only groups

at my school there are certain clubs that only minorities can enter.  And upon recieving an accpetence letter, my future school invited me to a minority honors program.  I'm not so sure about this.  The standers to enter these are lower then it would be for white students.  And what if they made a "white" leadership group.  Then all hell would just break loose.  I mean if we want people to all come together and eliminate discriminaition then why are we breaking minorities into groups away from everyone else.  i mean isn;'t that segregationa nd isn't that bad?  Read More »

Robbed in detriot

this past weekend my car was broken into when i went to see a concert at the Masonic temple in Detriot.  There were a lot of other people in the same lot who had this happen.  I'm sure most of us have been to musicals concerts and sporting events at night and as we drive by we see the expensive parking signs.  The closests lots are $20 while private fenced in parking lots go for much less.  So obviously i drive into that one.  Well perhaps we should all think twice about that becuase they didn't exactlly watch opver the lot they just took our money and left.  And another tip the police told me.  My mom left her purse under the floor mat so it wasn't even in plain sight.  They said someone probably watched her do it.  whenever you drive in a parking lot like that see if anyone is watching you.  Or just find somewhere where theres security.  Oh another thing the guy at the repair shop showed me how the guy did it.  He didn't smash it with a brick or anything he actually used a screwdriver.  clever for someone whos dumb enough to break into cars  Read More »

teenage love

so heres something commonly discussed.  is it possible for teenagers to actually be in love.  I think it honestly depends on how mature they are.  Probably the big diffrence between adults is that they've been out on there own and have more expirence with diffrent types of people.  Also you just are more secure with what kind of person you are and what you'd like to see in someone else.  It still will probably always be percieved as someone just beeing foolish when they claim they are in love and will stay together forever when they're 17.  People used to get married when they were around that age too.  Although on the other hand people didn't always marry becuase they were in love  Read More »

reading shakspere

I just don't really understand why we read shakespere.  I mean actually seeing it is...what it was meant for?  ok its written in english, or so they tell me.  When you actually see it happen it makes it easier to decipher by far.  But i just don't see whats so great about it and why hes considered a great writter.  most of his plays are just him re telling folk lore and norse ledgends.  And he wasn't even popular during his time.  His plays were mostly made for the common man seein as it cost a penny to see a play there.  I mean it'd be like if in 450 years people studied stephen king.  Oh well  Read More »

Recycle to increace jobs?

Last year i had an evironmental science class and we discuessed a program i think would be beneficial to the environment and the economy.  Recycling can help create many jobs becuase of all the labor that is requird for it opposed to traditionaly dumping trash in a landfill.  Trash just gets pick up and taken to the dump where as recycling has to be picked up and then sorted out and shipped back to be reused.  If we started a program where workers would sort out trash and take recyclable materials out we could lower the unemployment rate and more importantly help better our environment.

ocho cinco

yesterday chad johnson, the star wide reciever on the cincinati bengals, changed his name to ocho cinco.  He told reports he wasn't chad johnson he said his name was ocho cinco (his number is 85).  alright first oh all that is not how you say 85 in spanish! lol.  Then he tapped "ocho cinco" over his name on the back of the jersey.  I can't see what bothers me  Read More »

Lazy students

wow i have some lazy classmates in my AP euro class.  so we have a test every two weeks and its relativly easy every time (no i'm not just saying that like seirously they aren't too bad) his whole plan is to start easy and then get harder as the year goes by to you know build you up for game day.  so theres an essay portion to the test and he tells us what the essay questions are ahead of time so we can prepare for them.  He usualy hands out 3 and then for the test we only do 2 of them, his choice.  Well we get to the test today and he tells us every class he had today moaned and bickered and said the questions were too hard (yeah they were hard but i mean we got them in advance) and asked if they could use notes.  pretty much every student in his first two classes said they had no idea what to write about.  he says he'll allow it but gives everyone an extra homework assingment for the weekend.  i'm like come on this is an AP class it isn't supposed to be easy.  if it was easy we wouln't even call it AP euro we'd call it your mom.  (oh nice!  Read More »
