Ok, so, I just got back from seeing Bill Maher's movie, "Religulous." If you haven't seen this movie yet, you need to. It brings up so many interesting points and counter-points. I obviously don't know about anybody reading this right now, but I, myself, am not a religious person.

Radical Arabs? ....More Like Radical Americans!!!

I was watching a Republican campaign rally recently involving vice-presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. During the course of the rally, I overheard members of the crowd screaming violent things about Democratic Candidate Barak Obama. Let me be honest, I was ashamed of my country at that very moment.

As a proud member of a sorority and a very active student on my campus, I for one am frustrated with Greek affiliated students being a constant scapegoat.

The other side of fear: learning to cope...

So talking to my neighbors today made me realize a couple of things: 1) fear doesn't help you accomplish anything useful...you just end up sounding and acting like a nut (I've been sounding and acting like a nut a lot lately, I want to stop that and move with direction and purpose..) and 2) fear gives you stomachaches, making you even more useless 3) fear gets in the way of perfectly fun evenings,

Round 2: Maverick vs. Change

The second presidential debate this past Tuesday was extremely interesting despite the boring rules in this town hall format that did not allow the candidates to engage with each other more. Senators McCain and Obama had some great one-liners throughout the night and their strategies were throughout the night were obvious and completely different.

Imerialism and other insidious diseases

Columbus Day is right around the corner and I would imagine that the Native American is somewhat repulsed by the "holiday". The honoring of a white man who claimed to have discovered the land they had occupied for a very long time is comparable to celebrating Admissions Day in Hawaii.
