Raising money for HOPE to find a CURE to save a LIFE. PRICELESS.

This past weekend, I participated in RELAY FOR LIFE.

HAPPY PARENT'S DAY. NEED A NEW FACE?!?

As if our world wasn't getting any more absurd, South Koreans are giving their parents botox treatments, face lifts, and hair transplants for Parent's Day.

Cosmetic surgery clinics in Seoul said they have been booked solid for weeks with appointments made by children for their parents.

Using surgery to ehance looks is common in South Korea, with few stigmas attached to having procedures done to make eyes rounder, noses more shapely and even calves slimmer.  Read More »

Drowned Alive

So how bout that. David Blaine attempting to stay underwater for a week.

He's been in this acrylic 8 foot snow globe-like sphere in New York City for a week.

He's being fed through tubes, and despite his skin peeling, severe headaches, and  sharp joint pains, he is still going to do his finale act.

Putting himself in chains and taking off his oxygen tank, and trying to free himself in 9 minutes. That means holding his breath underwater for 9 minutes!  Read More »

Lillian Gertrud Asplund, the last American survivor of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, has died, a funeral home said Sunday. She was 99.

Asplund, who was just 5 years old, lost her father and three brothers — including a fraternal twin — when the "practically unsinkable" ship went down in the North Atlantic after hitting an iceberg.  Read More »

ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN.

Twelve years.

12 YEARS. That's 6,307,200 minutes. How do you measure these years in my life living in America?

I remember stepping at the Tokyo International Airport. "Are we there yet?" I asked my dad. This magical land. This America.

"No sweetie. We'll see mama soon." And with that said we boarded another plane with my 2 baby brothers.  Read More »

Milk. It does your body and your baby good.

Lack of milk during pregnancy leads to smaller babies.

In a study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, pregnant women who only drink a glass of milk delivered smaller babies than those who drank more milk.

Smaller babies have higher rates of obesity, hypertension and diabetes as they age, say medical experts.

Vitamin D, which promotes bone and organ growth, is made naturally through skin exposure to sunlight. However, pregnant women are often told to avoid sun exposure due to chloasma, a blotchy skin condition that sunlight can make worse or permanent, CTV news reported.  Read More »

TO THE SOUTH: OPEN UP YOUR MINDS!!!!!!!!

Tagged:  •

Like some of you already know, I go to school in Western Kentucky, which is very much so a part of the Bible Belt.

(see previous entry for details)

Another thing that is synonymous of where I live is the cultural mindset that people who live in the South in general have. A lot of people here are very closed-minded.

And I hate it for all of it to be a race thing. But here it goes.  Read More »

Welcome to Bible Belt, USA

Tagged:  •

Unlike most of you probably on here, I live in the Bible Belt.

Yes, the Bible Belt. It's not a myth. There are churches on every other block, and those "die-hard" Christians are preaching about their beliefs, and if you don't believe the same thing THEY do, apparently, you're going to hell.

The Bible Belt. Where Brother Jim, a preacher who travels around schools to get money, can talk about all the ways we're going to hell.  Read More »
