Have you ever woken up...and in the midst of your groggy, half-asleep state in which you aren't quite aware of everything yet, but you know you aren't dreaming, you read something so stupid that it makes you think - "Did I just read that right?"
Americans are really fickle beings, aren't they? I mean, when we want something that seems to be good for us (i.e., "Abstinence Only Education") we expect the government to pay for it - and they do. But expect to take the good with the bad? We can't do that - can we?

For the past two semesters, the Progressive U Faculty and I have hosted the Progressive U Scavenger Hunt. This small Bonus Point opportunity has launched the contest for a variety of reasons - the least of which is to help our newest members find their way around our features while learning about some of the rules here on Progressive U.
In my experience, for a man to decide to pop the question has to be one of the most nerve wracking moments in his life. Okay - well, what the hell do I know? I'm not a man, I've never popped the question, and my husband was engaged three times before we ever even met each other and finally got married ourselves.
So maybe it's a bit easier than I think it is.
So... It's happened again.
Yet another woman has showed up at my doorstep with a problem. This time, she hasn't been hit by her...um...beaux(?) But she's already showing the signs!
I know a lot of people don't think we listen to them when it comes to suggestions, desires, or ideas. But we really do! And just to show you how much we listen, we members of the Progressive U Faculty are proud to announce the launch of our new sister site, "Progressive U Creative Writing". This new site is set up to cater to those of you who just want to write without having to stick to the news or political scandals - as much fun as those are.

It's not often when I feel stupid. But it happens. And I don't mean the kind of stupid where I'm left feeling ignorant or uneducated. I mean the type of stupid that makes me open my mouth and shove my two size 5 1/2 shoes in...
