On this website, many people are afraid to admit their ignorance. Ignorance, like narrow-mindedness, has become a negative word that continues to be thrown around pejoratively. Earlier this week one person refused to be called "ignorant," preferring a word that means pretty much the same thing but without the negative connotation: "uninformed." The truth is, being ignorant is not that bad. Admitting your ignorance is the first step to being progressive. Have we really done all we can to break away from Christian traditions? In my high school, public prayer is banned, religious-related clubs cannot take place on campus, and students aren't required to say the pledge of allegiance because it contains the ever-abominable word "God" in it. But are those enough? I don't think so. I was just thinking earlier how great today is because it's Friday, but if I think about it, I wonder why weekends exist at all. Read More »
