As eager as I am about participating in the next ProgressiveU contest, I must permanently retreat from this website if I don’t want to (further) jeopardize my GPA. Because I know you all love me so much and care sincerely about my well-being, let me tell you what I’ll be up to in the next year or so.

I’ll be graduating from college in June with a degree in biochemistry. I wish I were as smart as my B. S. degree implies, but I’m not. I’ve forgotten half of the materials I’ve learned, and I’ve succeeded in my classes so far mainly by studying the exams from the previous years and memorizing things when I can’t understand them. I don’t even like science that much, and I like math even worse. Calculus made me cry, linear algebra made me angry, and physics made me want to chop off someone’s head, not excluding my own. For two years straight I complained about my math and science classes to whomever willing to (pretend to) listen, and even now I still get mild seizures when I stare at my bio or chemistry text for too long.  Read More »

There has been much talk about how fast kids grow up these days, and I guess it's true children are physically taller and bigger than they were ten years ago. Girls are especially notorious for maturing earlier and earlier. Even before they hit puberty, they have developed an interest in boys and makeup and are starting to dress provocatively. We need to come up with new revolutionary music. Many bands today claim to be revolutionary, but they aren't really. They are called revolutionary because only two people have heard of them, not because they're musically different. We need to do something new here.

We need to start with classical music. Why is it that classical music are mostly played on piano or on string instruments? Why can't we throw in an electric guitar? If I see one more blog on Britney Spears (or any other celebrities, for that matter) on our beloved ProgressiveU (or anywhere in this world, for that matter), I'm gonna cry, kill myself, and haunt everyone who has made me this miserable.

Oh, if I see one more blog on stereotypes... the obsession with stereotypes is just as bad as the obsession with Britney Spears...

To begin with, there wouldn't be any stereotypes if they weren't true for the majority of group. If 95% of NBA weren't black and tall, there wouldn't be any such stereotypes about basketball players. If 85% of the doctors didn't have chicken-scratch handwriting, it wouldn't be a part of their stereotypes. In the last ten minutes I spent on this website, a thread called "Brittney Spears is a poser" (along with three other Britney Spears threads) kept appearing under the Last Viewed. When it came up for the tenth time, a question finally dawned on me: is Britney Spears really a poser? We need to take this issue to a whole new level.
