This Site = Big Disappointment
I joined this site at the beginning of the spring scholarship competition and actually attempted the competition, which meant I spent an unreasonably large amount of time on this site. But I gave up on the scholarship when I realized something. A lot of people on this site are dumb. Some of them are really dumb. I had (and have) a difficult time finding blogs with intellectual, reasoned, or informative posts. I see tons of posts that argue for ideas I already take for granted like "racism is bad" or "we should reduce our oil consumption" without adding any new insight to the argument. Many other posts offer up trite realizations like "life sucks sometimes so you should be grateful" or "stereotypes are stupid".
