It would be redundant for me to say that the U.S. is drowning in a sea of selfish materialism, but the U.S. is drowning in a sea of selfish materialism. Now, I'm not saying there's anything inherently wrong with having nice things or even wanting more things. The problem occurs when we begin form our identities solely based upon our material goods. This problem is becoming pervasive in U.S.

In the past few years, the cost of higher education in America has been increasing. Most of this has been due to the deregulation of university system, so without these government holds, the universities are allowed to set their own prices for tuition. In fact most statistics expose that tuition has risen on an average of 70% in the last five years.
