Imagine the last time you went out, not on a date but just out to eat. The waiter introduces himself and takes orders for drinks, comes back with the drinks and ask if your ready for appetizers. If its a real nice restaurant they usually have bread and rolls served. Later on in the meal he takes your order and while you wait he returns offering to refill your drinks and bread. The food is than served and little by little he stops by to check up on you filling your drinks as he does. The bill is than left at your table, if he did a good job you leave him a 20% tip, if it was mediocre service 15%. Right? There seems to be a bit of confusion in the US today, stores that don’t offer full service have canisters labeled “Tips” and then stores that do offer full service like this are being cheated out of the service they provide. Cheating on Someone Might Get You Filed Online

Girls, is there good news for you... besides that I am single (just joking). But if I was there now exists a website that allows a women currently starting a relationship to search to see if that man was reliable (IE has he cheated before). After spending about thirty minutes looking up myself to see if I had a record (I’m glad to say that I don’t) I then went to look up friends that were in a relationship. www.dontdatehimgirl.com allows anyone with or without an account to search its vast database. After creating an account you can post a description of a offender you personally dealt with or comment on other ones already posted. Now this isn’t fully one-sided they do allow for the males to post a reply on what happened.Basically the issue some people are having is should it be allowed. In my opinion it comes down to a he said she said ordeal. In certain cases there isn't real cheating just rather a confusion between the post break up stage. Where the women posting don't know if the women the man is dating currently was the reason for their break up. Obviously this comes down to is it right or should there be restrictions to this website?

Stereotypes are a NO NO!
“Yo Jay-Kwon! We going to the movies Friday Night?” This was heard in the halls of my school. It wasn’t what was said that caused a debate between my friends but the person who was yelling this across the hall. Before I continue I know I am bound to offend some people. In fact though the only people that should be offended are those that agree with the Stereotypes I am about to mention. Caution please discontinue reading if you are the type of person easily upset, or often like hunting down people off the internet. (I wasn’t joking about the last one either). This shouting across the hall is a common stereotype of the African American race as being loud (I.E. Movie Theaters) . Now there are many Stereotypes out there and we can recognize them easily. From Asian’s being smart, Mexicans mowing Lawns, Jewish people being greedy and from white people that live in mobile homes to wearing White Tank Tops referred to as “Wife Beaters”. Read More »

South Park might not be funny to Catholics
Try to see if you can guess what TV series these quotes are from.
“Anyway Kenny, Yellow MegaMan is only $8.95, so maybe your mom can put it on layaway and make payments for a year or two.” “Too bad drinking scotch isn't a paying job or Kenny's dad would be a millionaire!” “It's an Afghanistan goat, so it can't stay here, or else it'll choke on the sweet air of freedom.” All of these are from a funny animated show called “South Park” I have no idea if any of you have seen the episodes, but each one borderlines and if not surpasses what is suitable for Television in the eyes of my parents. All these quotes come from a boy named Eric Cartman, who shows us the true meaning of funny over and over again. Now normally not to many people have a problem with the show they either block it on their TV or just never change it to Comedy Central where it normally is seen on Tuesdays, Wednesdays ,and Thursdays. Till recently the only group to complain have been local parents which has done little to impact the situation South Park has put itself in. Now the Catholic faith demanded for a stop on the airing of the episode “Bloody Mary” a episode in which the Statue bleeds from the rear. The show not only pokes fun at the faith but it does so rather harshly. Read More »

Myspace is No Place for Guns
What is the number one hot spot on the net? Actually, what's the number one PG-13 RATED Hot spot on the net? Well the answer is simple, www.myspace.com or www.xanga.com of course... Until recently myspace was known for its strict policy on no drugs no porn no guns. That is till a 16 year old Denver kid had a picture of him with rifles laying all around him pointing at his head the caption reading “Angel o' death on wings o' lead” In response to it several parents complained to the school board. The matter was then resolved with the school officials involving themselves and attempting to expel the young man. The myspace has been since deleted. The only question remains, “Is it right to take such drastic measures?” Read More »

The Dope Facts
An eight year old walks into a local Stop and Go and heads to the back to grab a Coke and a candy. He grabs his favorite beverage and walks to the candy aisle. Unfortunately where the Snickers once were there's “Acapulco Gold and Marijuana.” Of course this isn’t the actual drug but something just as disturbing to parents: a Marijuana Flavored Lollipop. These lollipops created by “Munchies” are now being distributed to gas stations near you. Fortunately the eight year old can’t purchase this product as it is illegal to sell to anyone under 18, but still the image is taken in by his adolescent mind. Now the problem that lays before us is, is it alright to have such products in display where kids are being exposed to it? Read More »

Racial Profiling and the Hard Truth
Racial Profiling should be used in moderate amounts, meaning that if a given party is known to be related to a criminal group such as Al Qaeda, then further investigation is required. Sheriff A.J. Johnson of Eagle County, Colorado referred to Racial Profiling best when saying “If I’m told that the suspects are a group of Hell’s Angels, who do you think I’m going to be looking for?” (Washington Times). Obviously the problem many Americans face to day is not that of Racial Profiling, but fear of Stereotypes. Where as Stereotype is defined as “A conventional, formulaic, and oversimplified conception, opinion, or image.”(dictionary.com) and Racial Profiling is defined as “the consideration of race when developing a profile of suspected criminals; by extension, a form of racism involving police focus on people of certain racial groups when seeking suspected criminals”(dictionary.com). Clearly we must take into account that heavy emphasis must be placed on the word suspected criminals. By doing so we define a line between Stereotyping and Racial Profiling, this is the line we as a society must examine, and define ourselves where and when we allow such use of Racial Profiling to be permitted.
