Why settle for less people?

I see this every day! When I wake up every morning and go to school at 8:00am, when I leave school at 2:50pm, when I got to the mall, when I go to church, when i watch the news, and even when i read magazines. For some reason to which I cannot grasp, is why people constantly settle for less.

Alot of people like to blame hiphop for the violence that takes place in the young African American society. I am caught in between as far as if I disagree or agree. I say this because i don't want to be a trator to my race, but at the same time the truth hurts. Its hard to defend rap or hip hop.
