Today my friend and I got into troble at my school. The problem was, in my opinion, that our teacher is prejudice and homophobic. It was after class was over and we had some free time to do whatever we wanted. I was a little tired and was leaning on my friend, just leaning against her arm, and the two of us got sent to the office and recieved a day of in school suspension for it. Now there are two other people in my calss, a guy and a girl, who do things of this nature all the time. Often one lays down and literally rests their head in the other's lap. These two students never get into trouble for it. However when my friend and I, two girls, barely have body cotact it is seen as an innappropriate display of affection. The only conclusion I am left to draw is that my teacher is homophobic. When we went to the office and explained this all to the principal, minus my predjudice and homophobic theroy of course, we had a conferance with the teacher. When I tried to explain my point of view, again without the predjedice and homophobic theory, I was told that if I kept arguing then I would be written up for insubordination as well. Now I ask you, is any of this fair or just?

Labels and Homophobia
I have spent the entirety of my short life rebelling against labels. The only thing it has gotten me is more. High school can be a cruel place for any kid, but it is even worse when they have to survive it with labels. The more labels you have, the worse it is for you. There are many labels you could be assigned: prep, jock, cheerleader, stoner, troublemaker, gay kid, nerd, goody-two-shoes, teacher’s pet, etc.
Population Control
I think that the Untied States should pursue population policies to protect out quality of life for future generations. With the rate at which children are being born and the rate at which immigrants are entering the United states, if something is not done to contain the population soon then it will be too late. Although I believe we should pursue population policies, I think that we need to be careful not to make any of the policies too drastic.
Media isn't only factor to influence violent behavior
I recently read an article on media violence. Main points of this article touched upon the fact that more violent and aggressive behavior is being blamed on television programs. I believe that many people unjustly accuse the media for our society’s problems. Viewers should take responsibility for programs they choose to watch. I find it curious that television has been focused upon for our troubles. People were committing violence long before television was even invented.
