What if you DON'T win the scholarship money????

Tagged:  •

I didn't even know what a "blog" was until I created my own (for the sole purpose of winning a scholarship).  But now, crisis sets in.  Have I waited too long? Will anyone read my blog? Is this a waste of time? Well, I realized that its not a total waste of time.  I've  really this site.  But, I'll be honest.  I NEED that scholarship money, just like we all do.  So, whats' next on my agenda for collecting money for college?  GAME SHOWS! My boyfriend and I were on a game show last month called "Lingo," and we won $5000.   WHATS ON YOUR AGENDA (if you don't win the scholarship)? ANY CREATIVE IDEAS OUT THERE ON HOW TO OBTAIN MONEY FOR COLLEGE?

Are Silver Tooth Fillings Really Harmful???

The answer is NO!

The following is a real copy of a letter I wrote to my dentist, after I was recently bamboozled into having my fillings replaced:

Dear Dr. __________:

On April 4, 2006, at 9:00 a.m., I visited your office for the purpose of getting my teeth cleaned. During the visit, you recommended that all of my amalgam restorations be removed and replaced with composite fillings. Even though I did not report any problems with my amalgam fillings and never inquired about their safety, you suggested removing the fillings, which you claimed were potentially toxic. Your assistant, ____, further advised me that the amalgam fillings were definitely toxic and strongly suggested that I have them removed at once. She then indicated that since you had an opening in your schedule, I could even have the work done that morning. Based on these statements, I believed it was necessary to have the procedure done.

After I had the work done, I was informed, by another dentist, that the work was unnecessarily performed.  I did my own research on the issue of amalgam fillings and my research confirms that the work was unnecessary. According to the California Dental Association’s website, "dental amalgam is considered a safe, long lasting and versatile tooth restorative material."  That opinion is shared by the American Dental Association. According to the ADA, "Studies have failed to find any link between amalgam restorations and any medical disorder.  Amalgam continue to be a safe restorative material for dental patients."    Read More »

I recently saw the movie, "Thank you for Smoking," and was blown away.  I thought it was clever and moving.  The dialogue and acting were brilliant.  The movie tells the story of a man who works as a lobbyist for the tobacco companies and basically describes the entire phenomenon of how the tobacco companies, for years, lied to people about the harmful effects of smoking.&  Read More »
