EXXON and MOBIL.

I implore you to boycott EXON-MOBIL. Since these petrodollar, gasoline exploiting vultures keep raising the price of gas we should simply buy gasoline from anyone but EXON-MOBILE! They set the market prices, since they have a huge monopoly on the
US economy. OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..... not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.
For the rest of this year, DON' T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If! they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. Tell you friends… J

Why Blog?

I have an opinion about everything.

Since joining college, I was able to discover in my International Relations classes that my best opinions are about topics I simply don’t know anything about. Sometimes I can catch myself giving 3 different opinions about the same topic! What really matters for a blogger such as myself, is not the loyalty to a particular point of view, but the ability to defend two different things at the same time. All modesty aside, I’m very good at that.  Read More »

April Contest: Why Blog… Open letter to P.U.

Like most Americans I already have an Ipod, and despise it very much. In fact, I would argue it’s the worst $400 I ever spent in my life, its just a piece of crappy fashion ; I could have decided to spend that money with starving kids in
Africa, or to fight global warming or something… Hey I have an idea, to keep things more interesting, how abut of
fering some friendly “escort service”,  prostitution is just as offensive as blogging for a piece of electronic in a progressive website, at least for me. Remember, fashion is an imposition, a reign on freedom. I’m not even going to mention the virgin mobile phone… can’t I just have the virgin?

Do you know what Xenophobia is? Probably not, so let me help you out...

Do you know what Xenophobia is?  Probably not, so let me help you out: its hatred of foreigners. In the US,  this goes one step further and arguably is Latinphobia. Yes, Most Americans (that are not Latin themselves) dislike this particular ethnicity. Speaking of my own particular experience, since my job allows me to speak with thousands of Americans each year, most of them (when asked)  have resevations when speaking about Latins and their influence. The minority hates them, some dislike them, the majority simply have an implied reservation towards the average Juan and Maria, but would still have them as house-keepers and gardners.  Read More »

You got see this ''Invest Japan'' commercial made by Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs

that is aired on TV these days. I found the end quite funny when Japan's Prime minister Koizumi makes an appearance, I don't know, but he looked a bit desprate to get investors into Japan. But maybe its way of expressing himself, although funny as it is. Anyway, enjoy!

Blogging for Money...

Tagged:

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m not blogging for money. Yes at first I was blogging for the $$ offered. However, that’s just because  I  underestimated the people in the website , and hoped to win it by taking advantage of their apparent uncouthness. It was distressing to say the least that the quality of the posts is so substandard it actually makes me want to vomit, so don't hold that against me.  I assumed this website was designed for people to express their political ideals, and find solutions to different problems in the world today, hence its name “Progressive.” However despite the goal of the website to use me as a non-conformist tool in a society that honestly does not care much about its government, I don’t feel used, but still feel anguished with the posts of the majority of the bloggers. This sometimes reflects in some rude comments, mental abuse and other attempts by me to prevent these people from making a fool of themselves. Call it pre-emptive writing attacks, or whatever the case, please focus on PROGRESSIVE topics, not on the scholarship. Not that writing about your cat or march madness is not interesting, but you have Myspace for that…  Read More »

RISE OF THE IRAQI LEFT

There are millions of working people in Iraq. These people are trying to survive a war, simultaneously feed their families, and find shelter amidst a chaotic environment. Currently, almost 3 years after the Saddam Hussein’s army was defeated, the US government promised the “rebuilding” of the Iraqi economy. Driven by the US anti-labor policy in Iraq, today, an estimated 55% unemployment rate overshadows that promise, making each day extremely difficult to “survive” for the majority of the people in that country.  Read More »
