Not so Progressive, Beware

Tagged:  •

So many years have past. And still some business are not progressive. Does it seem that they have gone down hill? Years ago they were racist towards some workers and customers. And until recently, to me they were doing fine. All of the sudden, suddenly I see that some are regressing back to the times of Big Monopolies and taking over everything. Crushing the little guy and doing as they wish. While some business are moving forward, some take steps back. Or maybe I have not seen that this has happened all along. Maybe it's the people that manage them. With so much technology and advancement how can this still happen? If the company does something wrong, or if their workers do something, than the customer should not have to pay for it...
There are so many, but I will pick the most recent one: (No I am not the only one that has had a problem with them, search yahoo and the news and you will find others) The Computer company was helpful and so their name will not be revealed)

Crazy costs

Tagged:  •

Imagine feeling sick. Maybe your wife is having a kid. What are you taught to do? Dial 911. Wait, on the other hand, why don't you just drive there? So at first it sounds like a good idea. Why not? You are sick so get there ASAP.  So what would be wrong with that? Well let's hear a story.

About five months or so ago. One of my family members was getting in an argument with one of my aunts. They argued for a while, called the police, and in all of the stress, he began to feel sick. He had a heart problem, so my aunt called 911. And so he got there, they checked him. They saw nothing was wrong, so he returned home. So later comes the BILL. The ambulance alone was 1k. Yes 1,000. WE live about 4 blocks from the hospital. So my question is, why is the cost so great? Is it because the people who drive it, and the paramedics get paid so much? Or is it the cost of the injections they give you once you are inside?
With so many people that can't even support themselves, how can the costs be so high?

Pushing kids way too much

Tagged:  •

Sometimes parents pushing kids can be good. Like telling them to go to school. To graduate and to have a good life. In a way. There are the parents who push their kids academical, but than there are the other parents.

The parents who push their kids to become famous. One example is the little 9 year old that appeared on Dr.Phil (one of the many shows that feature these stories). This girl had to sing every weekend. She missed many parties and sleep overs, because her mom said that you need to give stuff up to accomplish what you want. When the mom did not like the act, she grounded the girl.

Stealing human remains to get their point across

Tagged:  •

I'm sure many people have very strong believes in many things. The economy, politics and even animal rights. but why resort to violence? Or even worse, stealing the remains of another?
Well in YOXALL, England, animal rights activists took it too far.

Summary: They stole the body of an old lady because they were angry at her family. They raised little guinea pigs and they were used in research

Man to Female and back to Male

Tagged:  •

In all of my years, I have never heard a story like this.( I read this in an article, can't find it, but the story was also featured on Maury at 12pm today)

Summary: Joe was a boy and at the age of 29 he had a sex change, the whole package But later at the age of 40, she decided to turn back into a man. For 15 years she was a model and a dancer. She spent over 100k the first time, and later paid more to change back. She was married to her first husband (who knew nothing about this). She looked better than most girls, I was amazed when I found out she was a man before.

How to handle it

Tagged:  •

In problems as with anything in like, people see 2 ways to handle things: 1). do it NOW, 2). Take steps and than build up to it. An example would be how to overcome a Phobia. I am afraid of highs. They expect me to just get on the tallest ride, but I said no. So I am slowly trying to build up to it, by riding smaller rides. Another example is smoking. Just stop cold Turkey, or just build up to it.

What you may not know

Tagged:  •

And so here is another blog that may inspire thoughts.

In my environmental class, we learned a few things:

1). 2 Tablespoons of salt can kill a child under 1 year of age. Of course one may ask, when will a child eat 2 tablespoons of salt, but you never know.

2). There is only 3% of drinkable water on earth. Guess where 2% of the water is? That's right, it's FROZEN! So we live on 1% that mostly comes from underground.
