I usually don't post blogs about myself. Let's be honest here, I don't care about any of your personal lives, and I know none of you care about mine. But tomorrow I'll be leaving for Greece, and I figured I could pull some progressive ideas into this personal blog. And, of course, there will be politics. Yes, lots of politics. Also, I figure that spending seven weeks in a foreign country will give me a new world perspective.

Frustrations of the Paleoconservative
The paleoconservatives are members of a dying breed. Although the term itself is probably only a couple decades old, the ideology behind it is older than America, and nearly all of our Founding Fathers adhered to its tenets. They believed that government had no business meddling in the affairs of the private citizen or the free market.
Carbon Belch Day
Today, June 12th, is Carbon Belch Day. This day is an awareness event by counter-environmentalists whose goal is to debunk the global warming "myth" in order to, ironically, save the planet. Their goal is to unleash a torrent of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, completely on purpose.
A Bone to Pick with Vegetarians
I have a big, juicy, meaty bone to pick with some vegetarians. I think being vegetarian is a great idea, because it is healthy for the body and our planet. I am not a vegetarian, but because I believe in its beneficial qualities, I try to eat vegetarian meals at least once a week.
The President: Master and Servant
The President is the most powerful person the in entire world. But in a democratic state, what purpose does the President serve? Is he or she supposed to be the servant to the people, following their every will, or the Master of the Nation, a leader who commands public policy?
The Futility and Selfishness of Protest
I'm a senior in high school, and for the past year I've served as the president of my school's Amnesty International chapter, a human rights club. The club is best characterized as liberal, though there was once a day and age when supporting human rights was an apolitical cause that everyone could advocate. Point being, in my position in this club, I have a lot of self-righteously indignant liberal students nagging me to host constant rallies at my school to protest various human rights abuses.
My problem with all of this? The act of protesting is pointless and ultimately selfish.
The Stink Bug Cometh
The topic of this blog is somewhat unusual for me, and I'm sure many of you out there will view it as irrelevant and even banal. Even in the midst of Barack Obama securing the Democratic presidential nomination, I've chosen to blog now about... stink bugs and invasive species.
It's all over except the crying
The Democratic Presidential nomination race: it's all over except the crying, or so says the Associate Press.
