Well my friends, it's been a while, but I'm going to jump right in.

As I'm sure most of you know, Heath Ledger is no longer with us. Normally I wouldn't write about something like this, but bear with me here.

Once I asked my mom how she would react if I told her I was a lesbian, or if I ever brought a girl home. She told me she would be pretty upset, and of course tried to cover it up by saying SHE didn't really care, but there are others out there who would, and she didn't want me to end up getting hurt.

One of the main ideas behind a lot of modern society, I think, is that human beings are by nature selfish and self-absorbed...an "every man for himself" sort of mentality.

 However, shouldn't our ability to acknowledge that aspect of ourselves make some sort of a difference in how we act around other people? Consider the following:

I am in complete and utter shock. Really, just flabbergasted.

...And figure out what's important to you. In terms of presidential candidates, that is.

Oh sure, the big election is over a year away but the primaries will be upon us sooner than we realize, and for anyone that's registered to vote, especially with one of the major parties, it's time to decide which candidate you're going to support.

(Hey kids! I know there's posts like this floating around, but from what I've seen no one seems to be listening, so I'm throwing my hat into the ring!) Ever since the Scholarship Contest kicked back into gear, there has been a dramatic increase in posts and commenting....
