Survey, what would you do if there was a draft.

If anything further happens in Iraq or our government decideds that North Korea or Iran are too big a threat there is a big possibility that there could be a draft.  We just do not have enough people in the army to support the wars this government is taking us into.  So... if we were to have a draft what would you do?  Would you go if you were drafted?  Would you flee the count  Read More »

What happened to the recently viewed bar, and while I am at it...

I cannot find the recently viewed blog bar on the side of the site anymore.  I was just wondering where it went but while I am at it I might as well make some suggestions.  I think there should also be a top viewed blog bar on the side just like the recently viewed bar, I think it would give us a sense of what the ProgressiveU users are interested in and what the guests on progressiveu a  Read More »

Tracking sex offenders has gone too far!

North Carolina just passed a law that says that they will now track sexual predators that have gotten out of gail with GPS devices.  This is taking it too far.  The whole point of going to jail is to pay for what you did but once you are out it is a clean sleet.  Having a GPS device attached to you as you leave prison is an invasion of personal privacy.  I am in no way condning  Read More »

Shold it be against the law to talk on a cell phone while driving?

North Carolina just passed a law that makes it illegal for kids under the age of 18 years old to use a cell phone while driving a car.  I do not agree with this law.  I can drive perfectly well while talking on my cell phone and there are a lot of times where I need to call someone while I am driving.  There is no reason to be talking on the phone in the car.  It is no more dan  Read More »

Survey, what politician do you most want to get rid of?

If you had the power to get rid of any politician who would you get rid of.  I know a lot of people would go strait for Bush, that was my first thought, but the more you think about it the farther away from Bush you get.  First of all Bush is done in two years and secondly I don't think that Bush really does that much, I think that it is mostly his cabinet that has the real power.&nb  Read More »

Top 10 favorite controversial religious movies.

I think it is very interesting to watch satires on religions.  I like to see movies like the Life Of Brian show the obvious flaws of reasoning behind religion.  I think that one of the best ways to get your point across is to show your ideas in effect as many of these movies do.  Such as in the Life Of Brian where they show how a completely normal man becomes the MESSIAH without even trying to.  In fact he did not want to be the MESSIAH.  I always get good laughs for religious satires.  Read More »
