A tortured soul I am not.
The other morning I awoke and made my way to the latrine trailer to perform some personal hygiene when I found myself stopped in my tracks; I was amazed at how beautiful of a morning it was. As I marveled at the cool temperature, light breeze, overall positive feel of the day, I couldn't help but sing Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" in my head. There are bad people in Iraq, and bad things certainly happen here, but away from all the outside influences and man-made problems, it is still part of a wonderful world and it is important for me to realize that from time to time.
