Bailing out the Auto Industry

What could have been

The other evening, I was on my way home from work and was listening to a local conservative talk radio show. The questions on the board were:

Gerald Ford

Tuesday, january 2nd, has been designated a national Day of Mourning for former Pres. Gerald Ford. Flags will be flown at half-staff until the end of that day...people will be urged throughout the new year's holiday to remember and reflect upon the Ford presidency. It is a chance to say goodbye to a former leader.

Gerry Ford, according to the local and national news agencies, assumed power in a time of great turmoil. Nixon had just resigned, (Our entire Scout Troop listened to that 1974 speech on a transistor radio at Camp Lenape,  believe it or not) young men were still coming home in boxes and to ever-louder protests, and our economy was in a shambles.  Read More »
